So, here is what I could come up with, again. Maybe Akash and Khushi were dating secretly. And since we know Akash is a lawyer, Khushi might have found him as a more suitable match. He gives her dhak dhak and acidity 🤔

Also, Manohar knows nothing about it.

Now, Arnav comes into picture and falls for Khushi. He goes on and pursues her and proposes as well. His monologue in chap 2, clearly says that.

Khushi being with Akash, refuses him time and again.

And then BAM!! Akash breaks up with Khushi. 😲

A heartbroken Khushi, maybe in a weak moment confesses to Garima about what she has been through and in the meantime, Arnav approaches Manohar to marry Khushi.

An unsuspecting and well meaning Manohar convinces Khushi to marry Arnav. Garima also acts like aag mein ghee.

And so Khushi and Arnav marry, overlooking his past and her heartbreak.

Finally, with no hope from Akash, Khushi accepts Arnav physically, but not whole-heartedly.

How was it?? No flying chappals or rotten tomatoes allowed. Bas 🥺

Though we have divergent interpretation about Akash and Khushi or Akushi, let me share my thoughts on possibilities of your theory:

There is a high chance of Akash and Khushi happening in fact before Arnav entered Khushi's life.

But who fell for who is a big question here?

1. If Akash fell for Khushi, then to what extend Khushi reciprocated his feelings. If at all their feelings were mutual, why Manohar was favouring Arnav's wish over Akash's wish!

2. Why would Akash leave Khushi? Or Did Khushi give up on him??

3. What Manohar told to make Khushi concede to Arshi marriage despite her feelings to Akash, was she so helpless that even Akash couldn't save her??

4. If Akash was the man who makes her feel warm, safe and secure then technically she should have selected Akash over Arnav right?? Then Arshi marriage happened against Garima's wish 'too'?!

Khushi was undoubtedly conceded in the marriage but why did she agree? Only to please Manohar and help Garima and her family's needs?!?

Plausible, it's an advise given by Garima to Khushi but when is the good way to find out how Khushi took this advise.

But do you think Garima had anyone in mind while stating this?? I mean the two men, was she referring specifically to certain someone??

EC - I found your theory of Akaash & Khushi's secret affair fascinating, but I feel that's a bit out of character for Khushi. I don't think she ever had any interaction with guys outside her professional realms. Agree with P's #7. Akaash is a lawyer and they may have worked together at K & A in some capacity. Akaash being Khushi's mentor makes total sense. It is also possible that she may have always expected someone "like" Akaash to be her life partner. An honest, mature, responsible & respectable man who lives his life with integrity (this is based on the assumption Akaash is all of that lol )

To summarize, I don't think Khushi's reluctance to accept Arnav is because her heart lies elsewhere, but because of her own reservations against his colorful past and perhaps some of the circumstances.

Oh ho, in my hurry to get the thoughts out of my head, I forgot that khushi's not been in the company of anyone else.

But yes, P's theory of Akash being Khushi's dream man still holds. 😊

I doubt if there is anything beyond knowing, professionally liking or respect to each other between Akash and Khushi. If there was anything at all, then Khushi should have at least once thought about Akash till now right??

I agree on your point on Khushi expecting someone like Akash than Arnav. That extend is totally expected given that they share same working place and Khushi being Manohar's protege and Akash might be the same.

Khushi would have wondered when Akash who inherited all good behaviours of Manohar which is lacking at Arnav. 

Khushi is ignorant in the matters of heart but I don't think she is innocent enough to give away her life to Arnav leaving behind her heart to someone like Akash! There is more to it, perhaps she has another reason for her to concede to the marriage.

How about its just monetary gain and nothing else.

Remember Payal called her a gold digger and she didnt refuse or argue with Payal.

Manohar didnt know about the love affair, of sorts. Akushi may have kept it a secret
