New Glasses vs Laser Surgery:Abir & Kunal's different perspectives!

I think the glasses issue is meant to highlight the difference in how Abir and Kunal treat Mishti.

Abir got her a pair of new glasses after asking Shaurya about it. He is able to anticipate her needs and surprise her in a way that makes her feel special. Abir's gift gives Mishti a choice- the choice to wear a different pair of glasses if she does not like this pair. Abir knows Mishti likes her glasses, so he simply gave her a new pair to replace the broken pair.

In contrast, Kunal assumed Mishti would be okay or even happy with a lasik surgery, without asking her. Unlike Abir, Kunal's gift does not give Mishti any choice; it's a permanent change that he believes is better for her. It's based on what HE likes. Kunal thinks eliminating the glasses will help Mishti but cannot see that Mishti considers the glasses a part of her identity.

Mishti's reaction in the promo shows how she treats the two differently as well. She is a sherni in front of Abir but becomes a bheegi billi in front of Kunal. She has very low expectations from Kunal and if he does anything remotely nice, she gives him an A+. She takes Abir for granted. Though Abir was actually batting for her, she gave him an earful because she doesn't want to spoil things with Kunal (thanks to Badi Maa's pressure).

She is already compromising on her identity, something she swore she would never do. Why scold poor Abir? He has been nothing but extremely caring towards her. 🤷‍♀️

Honestly Mishti is right. Its between her and her fiancee. She wants something, he wants something different- its upto her to talk and place her point of view. But she is so afraid to ruffle any feathers so she is okay with compromising-again that is her choice. Its high time Abhir backs off. Being nice is one thing but there is something called self-respect and I hope Abhir stops interfering between Kunal-Mishti after this. Whether it is giving them ideas or doing things on behalf of them or interfering in their fights/disagreements. We get it that Mishti is under pressure, Kunal is insensitive and uni-dimensional and Abhir can't help himself. Now please move on 🤪

Yes i think Kunal ke hisaab se glasses ko hata dena situation se solution hai. Baar baar tootega and repair karana and all

I dont think this particular track is to show anyone in a bad light. It is not to glorify Mishbir but is infact a very good topic that should be brought up. Sadly, Many people in real life are judged on their looks and pressurised to change their physical appeareance. For a girl to get this pressure from someone she is planning to spend the rest of the life, its just wrong and unacceptable. Kunal is not wrong in thinking about the laser treatment. But is is not cool to force your decision on someone. So thats the whole point of this track.

Yeah, Abir should back off 'cause clearly nobody values him or his opinions. 😒As you said, being nice is a good thing but allowing your self-respect to be dashed at the altar of others' well-being is not. That being said, this is Abir's first brush with Kunal-Mishti's rudeness, so I will forgive him. If they keep doing it and he sticks around, that will be a problem. Now that they've agreed to the engagement, Abir should let them do their own thing.

About Kunal being thrown under the bus for MishBir, I think what mahi means is that everyone except the leads on Indian TV are usually butchered to glorify the leads. Kunal is annoying and has his own issues but the CVs do have a tendency to show other characters as completely evil/stupid as compared to the leads on all shows. It can be annoying because one person cannot be so perfect while the others are a waste of space 😝
