In a world where people cared about punishing the offender and sending the right moral message to everyone, the producers wouldn’t have cared about how much money it cost. They would have replaced Alok Nath and taken the monetary loss with pride. But what’s a little dignity and self respect for a woman when you can save money?!

This article however talks about more than just Alok Nath and De De Pyar De. It’s about this whole attitude of not taking this issue seriously. Once everyone fulfilled their obligation of giving a few good sound bites everyone moved on to doing things as they were. It also covers the shrewd and manipulative ways that Raju Hirani wormed his way back to having a career, as it seems for now. How Sajed Khan might be working soon too. And how if we look at things realistically Bollywood hasn’t improved a whole lot in the last two decades.

I know there have been cases of false allegations by women for whatever reason. But it is a statistical fact that those are very rare. I find it extremely aggravating that the go to line for every other celeb these days is some bullshit line about how every allegation could potentially be a false allegation. I’m genuinely not sure what Richa was trying to do or say but she did women and this cause no favors. Don’t even get me started on Sonam defending Hirani and blatantly calling the victim a liar, along with Javed Akhtar, Dia Mirza, and a bunch of other people including Ranbir Kapoor calling him an amazing human being on a national platform.

Bollywood has lost a lot of credibility on this issue when everyone kept quiet after Salman’s rape joke a few years ago. Unfortunately whatever little credibility they had left was lost completely after the Hirani allegations. The writer of this article is right. More than all the other accused men Hirani’s case has been a meticulous and systematic manipulation of audiences and public to push him back into the realm of good people and sweeping his crimes under the rug. And it all happened right in front of us and every person in a position of power turned a blind eye and kept their mouths shut.

Can't agree more. 👏👏👏

I really hope, for the sake of the abused women (and men !) for the sake of a good future and a new generation with higher morals and decency .. that things Do change in BW.

And that more writers speak out ...and that the men accused are taken to court and punished- IF found guilty,

It's very sad how no one cares in BW. Even the so called stars who are so vocal on social media, are known to be hypocrites in real life. When you have actresses still working with directors and actors who are known criminals and abusers or have some allegation against them, and still want to work with them because *my precious fame* it's sickening.

Then there's fans and media who still praise these people like they are some champ and don't see the issue without their rose tinted glasses. It's all just sad....👎🏼

"Bollywood doesn't care about its women."

And it never will, unless the women unite and bring the change themselves.
