I have been wanting to gush about certain moments last week but eventually thanks to an annoying Kunal/Mishti/Badi maa scene, it skips my mind and am back to cribbing 😆 Now in retrospect, I can ignore the annoying aspects and list the three moments which really stood out for me last week.
1. When Mishti asks Abhir to describe his painting, she asks him how pretty it is. Chand jitni, phool jitni? And he simply says- 'Ghar jaisa, simple sa sidha sa lekin bahut khoosurat'.
That line really stayed with me. Its not something people would usually use to describe a painting of the love of their life. It wasn't really some intense shayari either with otherwordly adjectives about how his love is as beautiful as the sun and moon. Just a few simple words which convey Abhir's feelings in a jist. Abhir's heart was only looking for a home he could call his own and banjara ko finally apna ghar mil hi gaya ❤️
2. When Abhir returns Mishti's earrings to her, he says 'Tumari amanat peeche reh gayi thi. Aaj sab kuch lauta raha hoon'
I absolutely loved the way Shaheer said it. He was literally trying to let go and that slight break in his voice and lone tear in his eyes made that line so poignant and special ❤️
3. My third favorite scene wasn't really an interaction or a line. It was more of a moment from yesterday which stood out amidst the high voltage drama and confession. When Kunal walks out with Mishti, everyone is focused on them . Mishti's family was fussing on Mishti and thanking Kunal, Mishti herself was busy comparing her dad with Kunal and Meenu was fretting over her ruined plans. Noone really spared a thought for the guy who actually risked his life to save Mishti. When Abhir walks in holding that painting in one hand and Mishti's dupatta in the other, the reality dawns on him. That subtle change in his expression as he walks out was the most heart-breaking moment of the week for me.
I have a list of complaints about the ongoing track. I have a feeling its going to get worse when the engagement gets announced and Abhir's heart breaks a little more but for now, I really wanted to list out the three moments from last week which stood out for me. Amidst bipolar Mishti, credit chor Kunal, insensitive Meenu, shrieking badi maa and a lot of incoherent writing, the brightest spot of this show is clearly Abhir. He is quite the tragic hero who indulges everyone at his own expense. Your heart really breaks for him and you literally want to shake Mishti out of her ignorance. Am not sure if am invested in the love story as of now but am definitely invested in Abhir as a character. He indulges his siblings even when he is annoyed or depressed, he never looks to take credit for his actions, he never snaps and doesn't shout even at his servant and is so gentle with Mishti. There is not a tinge of lust in his actions. Just love and admiration. Quite the anti-thesis of the usual male leads on ITV. At this point, he is the only reason am watching this show. I know its a daily soap but am still desperately hoping they give a logical conclusion to this annoying cross connection. Abhir-Mishti have so much potential as a pair. So do Kunal-Kuhu. Don't ruin it in your quest for drama CVs. Please spare us of Kunal-Mishti-Badi maa and give us a proper story 🤪
