Kuhu Ki Kashti Ka Konservative & Klueless Kaptaan- Kunal!

Hey all!

As you can see, for my post title, I am inspired by the OG of Indian TV, the kween- Kekta Kapoor. 🙏

I remember there was a time when people prayed Kunal would escape Kuhu's clutches. I always felt it should be Kuhu who should be running for her life and looks like I am right. 😛

Our Katch of Kuchch aka Kunal is quickly showing that he is his mother's son and whoever marries him will have a tough time managing his kuirks. #mammasboy #mummykaghulam

He is raised by Ultra-Conservative Personal Feminist Meenakshi aka feminism is only for her but all the women around her have to be gaays and bakris.

Keeping that in mind, I have decided to tell Meenu ki Kunal ke liye ek rishta aaya hai.

Introducing...

Mute-akshi Kumari from Kuchch. She is mute keeping in mind Meenakshi's wish for a bahu who is seen but not heard.

Anyway, it was annoying to hear Meenakshi and Kunal say 'Why will Ketki work when her brothers are there to provide for her?' So, the only reason a woman would want to work is if her male relatives can't provide for her. OKAY. 😳

Work is for everyone. Maybe if they empowered Ketki to be financially independent, the only aim of her life would not be to marry a suitable guy. What if they had not found out about Ved and Ketki did get married to him? If they found out later and Ketki was left in an unsavoury situation, wouldn't a job help her hold her own? 🤓

Which weird world are they living in? Especially because Meenakshi is the family matriarch who runs the show. Are these the values Kunal has imbibed from his mother who raised him on her own, without the help of a male figure? It doesn't make any sense for Kunal to be so conservative when he works for his own mother, for God's sake. Now, he lets his mom work so does that mean he is not doing his duty towards her? Mishti is his responsibility after marriage, yes, but how can you impose your archaic values on her? You have to be a good husband to her and not her guardian. Uske liye doosre log hain.

Kunal is a typical conservative male who has a polished exterior. He looks 'modern' but is the furthest thing from it. I feel sorry that Kuhu in her immaturity has glorified him in her head. She is going to be in for a rude shock when she ends up stuck between Meenakshi and Kunal's 16th century sexism. Kuhu complains that Mishti takes away what comes to her but here she can do the stealing and will not realise she is doing Mishti the biggest favour of her life. 😆

I know he will change with time but I think the impact of these 'low intensity' sexists deserves to be talked about. There are many guys like Kunal around us who don't seem sexist when we talk to them- in our schools/colleges, offices, neighbourhoods etc. At a glance, they seem perfect, like he did to Kuhu. It's when you dig deeper that these issues come up- through relationships, friendships.

I have also noticed a trend of TV shows portraying attractive low intensity sexists changing due to the female lead, case in point, Uma Shankar in Rhea's show Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji. This is a dishonest representation, IMO for a few reasons 1. The attractiveness of said man is supposed to compensate for his crappy personality and outdated beliefs 2. They will change thanks to their wives. Such men are not good partners, whether they are attractive or not. I hope girls and women watching these shows will not romanticise such behaviour and think things will get better because they have 'chemistry' with a hot but otherwise unimpressive guy.

So, here's my verdict on Kunal, Kuhu style-

Lol😆 Does it any matter how much conservative and clueless Kunal is ?! And who's the unlucky one Kunal or Kuhu ?!😆 At the end both Kunal and Kuhu just a backdrop to create #Epic love-story for so called Leads. If kunal-kuhu shaadi happen still there'll b hardly any scenes of them.. They and their maritial problems will be just a backdrop to show how Mahaan the leads are and how perfect Bahu-Beta Mishbir are. And CVs making Kunal character like that so Mishti can go to Abir.. If Kunal will be supportive to her then how can Mishbir happen😆 this is ITV rules to realise how much better the lead then other characters should be less otherwise "Puri duniya ager perfect hogaya then Heroin ke liye mushkil ho jayegi na ke woh Kiss Kiss ki hogi"🤣

Big Ben is a modern women because (apparently) she runs a company, talks in English & uses latest gadgets unlike the rest of the dehatis in the house!

Kunal is a chikna chokro! His personality is also as bland as mishti! Slight deviation from SNS mammas boy because now & then he questions her.

Haha ..loved reading your post . I remembered the saying “never judge a book by its cover “ . Kunal seems perfect from far but only after getting to know him you will realize he is narrow minded and doesn’t have a mind of his own . He blindly follows his mom’s direction and one good example is the wallet case where he wanted to follow his mom’s instruction blindly even though there were other ways to handle the situation .

I think this is what makers are trying to convey that you need to know your partner really well before agreeing to marry Him .I am being patient with the cross connection with the hope that Mishti will say no to Kunal when she realizes his thinking might not go well with a independent girl like her not because she feels for Abir .This would be in sync with the concept of the show I.e courtship through which Mishti will save herself from disastrous marriage

I cannot help compare him to his older brother Abir .Though brought up in the same environment both brothers are so different in their thinking one is focusing on empowering women while other believes in suppressing women .Its not about women but in general Abir has a independent thinking who doesn’t get influenced by others easily .After a long time ITV has seen a male lead with brains .I just hope he stays this way

Kuhu is too immature to realize the real Kunal yet and not sure if she is mature enough to realize marriage based on attraction won’t last long but a real partner is one who can stand by you during tough times and can encourage you to grow instead of cutting down your wings .

actually we should be happy that this time a show is there who is exploring about how a sane husband should be

for those who are saying that kunal character is made so to glorify leads really there are many itv leads exactly like him

actually kunal is typical serial main lead but in other serial they show mature female lead tieing knot with these lead in name of love or bhagwan ka ishara but here kuhu is also shown immature and it should be in real even that kuhu type immature girl can only fall for such guy even after knowing everything

first time they have kept main lead as brother of typical serial main lead

in every serial how the main lead love story is called epic and it is made to be announced by every character that how much they love each other inspite of them not living 1 month togather inspite of having trust issues and many thing and those standing in corner always live together especially brother of main lead but only lead story is called epuc

i am happy now that show is not taking dramatic turn and mishbir relation are going organically and not just khata meetha nokjhoks

i hope they create yrkkh seaon1 just like akshara naitik relation(in today sense not exact copy) i know naitik was sometime regressive but akshara naitik relation was very normal with that time

similarly they can show mishbir relationship with respect to this time how a couple should be with each other not like kaira(kaira actually broken my heart the way naira became always without any fault accepting everything and karik became insane never accepting mistake)

Agree ..we need a couple who relationship is built on trust , understanding and love not on attraction and lust .Mishbir has the potential to be one such couple .He is understanding , caring , independent ,self made and most important of all one with high EQ . I don’t believe Kunal is shown as regressive to make leads perfect .They're just showing people with different personalities. Kunal is not grey shaded character but someone we can find and relate to in real life.

As per ITV standards , Abir is not someone who can make girls go weak in their knees with his looks , status or personality. He gives best friend vibes no wonder he was friend zoned by Mishti but there is more to his character which only few people can understand and appreciate it .

Yes over her Kunal looks like he has teeny weeny traits of MCP attitude. It didn't sound right when he told Mishti you are my responsibility.

Why is she a beast of burden just because Meenakshi forced her on you !! It is the attitude which sucks.

A note about. Abir does not have the aura of man who will sweep a girl off her feet. I mean it is just not Mishti, he has friend zoned kuhu too. Not a guy where by girls just fall for, he is Mishti's 3 am buddy. Seedha , Sada, bola bala ladka.

Sorry he isn't passionate enough. Dev was a package for Sonakshi.😊

agar typical serial hota toh fl kunal ko sudharne ke liye sochti aur kehti mein usko uske maa ke bure irade se bachaungi like in tsmsp

abir and mishti both have not fallen for looks or find comfort because of looks

abir firstly sensed her and her touch and in all first 3 meet they actually felt the pain of each other and then abir in fourth meet got lost in his angry chorni eye and again felt her pain in her voice and eye

he mainly actually fell in love with the earring girl if on holi day he would not have got confirmation then he would not be with her what he is today

i dont know why he felt for that earring girl i feel the logic would be just he heard her pain and then the earring was left to him so he felt there is some kismat connection
