Varun-Sara's Coolie No. 1 remake to be announced on April 24

First Judwaa and now Coolie No. 1...do we see a pattern in Varun Dhawan's liking towards remaking some of the massy classics from the 90s? While he had ensured in an interview that Coolie No. 1 remake will be more like an adaptation rather than an exact scene-to-scene replica of what Govinda and Karisma Kapoor had done in the original but going by the recent reports, looks like this Coolie No. 1reboot is going to be kickass tribute to the original.

As Bollywood Hungama quoted a source who spilled the beans on how exactly Coolie No. 1 is going to be made, "The red coolie's uniform that Govinda and Amitabh Bachchan wore in Coolie No 1 and Coolie are a thing of the past. If you see the coolies on Matunga station of Mumbai Central they are dressed in jeans and T Shirt. Ditto Varun. Also his character won't spend much time on the railway station. "Once it's established what Varun's profession is, the film will quickly move to the comedy and drama outside the railway station.

Talking about Sara Ali Khan, who will be seen stepping into Karisma Kapoor's shoes for the film, the source added, "She will play a feisty outgoing glib talker, just like Karisma. Not to mention, the makers are also planning to retain the original chartbusters from Coolie No. 1 - Husn Hai Suhana and Main Toh Raste Se Ja Raha Tha. "We plan to keep the original songs as sung by Abhijeet -Chandana Dixit (Husn Hai Suhana') and Kumar Sanu-Alka Yagnik (Main To Raste Se Jaa Raha Ttha') in the remake. Why should David Dhawan re-mix those hits when they are popular to this day?, confirmed the source.

With such exciting details out on Coolie No. 1 remake, how eagerly are you looking forward to this film? PS: Word is that David Dhawan is planning to make an official announcement on Coolie No. 1 remake on Varun's birthday this year which falls on April 24. It's left to see who all come together for this much awaited launch and if the makers also plan to release a teaser or the first poster of the film.

Interestingly, when VD was asked to comment on the Coolie No. 1 remake, he had said, "Why I wanted to do this film is because when I watched Coolie No 1, I was so entertained. I had such a good time watching it. It is a family film. It is one of the funniest and most entertaining films I have ever watched. It has an amazing screenplay and starred brilliant actors. We are adapting it. It is not a remake. I just want to try and bring that kind of fun back. That is why my father is also ready to do it. He has changed a lot of things. He has challenged himself also. He is the only one who knows the sun for this kind of film."

HE wanted to remake because he wanted a piece of that pie also. He will remake all his father's hits. Not sure what he's trying to prove. Everyone already says he acts like Govinda and Salman this will just further that

I still say that film was for it's time and made with the right combination of actors etc remakes are getting so dull and overused
