Pi was guruji's disciple but nothing is clearly mentioned about Vidya being one too. From the first meeting shown b/w Pi and Vi,in Guruji's place, I assumed that they were meeting for the first time coz they was no banter to point to the opposite opinion.

I guess Pi mentioned that Dee was

more like her coz Vi was shown to be a righteous person from the beginning.

I mean he didn't actually give, rather threw it towards Vidya so that she could get it. It's a different story that the stone vanished inside her womb surprising everyone.

My point is kaal Vijay ratna is the most powerful gemstone, so what made guruji trust Vidya with the stone, if he didn't know her before hand.

May be he knew what was bound to happen (well until then he was Kaalvijay's custodian). May be her righteous nature and then she was unknown to Pi might have been the reason she was chosen. (Reminding me of Sirius's choice of Pettigrew to be the secret keeper of the hideout coz no one would have suspected him to be one) She did say that she would take the gem and go into hiding in some far away place.
