So YUDKBH is not only a show that is about romance or family life.It is a period Drama too.It brought the concept of physical media back to life .Nowadays listening to music is very easy.Digital world has taken entertainment industry to a new level. We all now either listen to music on streaming media or in mp3 format. But the truth is that people at that time didn't had so much freedom.Physical media ruled their world.Cds,vinyls,8 tracks, tapes,VHS,and laser discs were in prominence. And the way of listening music was different too. There was no fast forward or rewind button for songs.People have to spent tonnes of money to buy a decent turntable, then amp,and external speaker burnt a hole in their pocket. The good quality cassette decks were too expensive and so middle class people made mix tape only in shops. But they were genuinely happy.Listening to music was a ritual.People used to sit down and enjoy the complete album, unlike majority of people who hears only the hot single. The record played in different speeds-33 1/2 rpm,76 rpm and 45 rpm and music was analog.Sound waves are grooved on vinyl medium and recorded on reels. Then came Walkman and revolutionized music.Music became portable
The same scenario was for the movies-either you watch it on cinemas or Vhs.Video was also analog due to tapes.
Do you remember those 5 1/4 inch and 8 inch floppies. They cant even hold data we use a minute now but in 80s before cds they were special.
So,The use of physical media is on surge again. Are you also a lover of physical media like me.I still own a collection of CDs and Dvds.
What are your experiences and memories with them.please share.

Nice post Abhi. 😊
I remember when I was a kid, we used to have a transistor and a lot of cassettes and mix tapes as well. We used to turn on Radio every morning and it was a ritual. And we used to name cassettes like Side A - Maine Pyaar Kiya and Side B - Saajan. And We used to watch movies on VCR. Then CDs came into existence. I remember how my dad used to get VCR Cassettes and the whole family used to watch movies together.

And the landline phones, Kumar Sanu Songs, having DD National and DD METRO as the only channels, watching Shaktimaan on Sunday - and what not. Seriously, I miss those days. 😊

Very nice post. I don't have much experience regarding this. In my childhood we had a radio. Then in my nanu's home there was a radio and lots of cassettes. And I used to listen the songs and dance 😆
