Maybe he really liked her and wanted a relationship, but the Indo-Pak dynamic is too convulated, and they both didn't want such a big headache. Or maybe they just had fun nothing serious.

Most times it looks like he is tolerating the people around him except Ayaan. Dude got into a wrong profession.

this is exactly why when he does antics like in filmfare awards, it looks odd cause its not natural for him
