Which celebrity has brought about most social change?
comment with why

I am editing this post with some reasons they are in random order
This topic is meant to be a positive topic so no negativity please

Ranveer "I had been waiting for something like this for a while now. Fortunately, I have been able to get a certain amount of popularity. This gives me an opportunity to give back to society in some way. I have joined hands with Akshay Patra, an NGO that organises mid-day meals for kids in more than 10,000 schools across the country. The best part about this campaign is that it is for kids. I love children, and ultimately they are our future," says Ranveer.

Sharing eye-opening statistics, Ranveer reveals that about 2 million kids in India die before the age of 5 because of malnutrition. "There are 60 million child labourers in the country.

These kids don't go to school, as they have to work to buy their meals. This just feels so wrong. The idea is that no kid should have to work for a meal, and should go to school. If people can give only '750, it can fund food for one child for an entire year," he adds.

Ranveer has funded the meals of 10,000 kids for the entire year. "I feel I can do a lot of good with the kind of money that comes my way."

IncInk: The 33-year-old actor stated in his post that his record label has been formed by a group of artists and caters to their needs. IncInk is a platform that will help "discover, nurture and promote exciting talents from across India."
Sharing the big news on social media, Ranveer wrote: "My passion project. A manifestation of a certain vibe. IncInk is an independent record label formed by artists, for artists... To discover, nurture and promote exciting talents from across India. Presenting #KaamBhaari, #Spitfire and #Slow Cheeta from the different hoods of our country. Let's show these boys some love."

Aamir for his films that make a difference& TV shows like Satyamev Jayate and Rubaru Roshni

Sushant for donating to natural disasters/social causes/illnesses and helping crowdfunding

below is by your story.com

Deepika Padukone

Deepika has spoken of her battle with depression on various public platforms. She stated that her primary reason for addressing this openly was to raise awareness among people about mental health issues. She recently launched an NGO The Live Love Laugh Foundation' which aims to spread awareness about mental health, and help out those who need it. According to NDTV Movies, she said,

If we are a nation that's the most depressed in the world, there's definitely a much, much larger issue that we all need to sort of focus on and work towards.
Her movie about acid attacks aim to spread awareness about the issue

Nandita Das

An excellent actress and an even better human being, Nandita never shies away from expressing her opinion against any kind of injustice. She has also spoken about the stereotypes that surround skin colour. She was the face of the campaign Dark is Beautiful', addressing the prejudices against dark skin

Priyanka Chopra

In her own words, Priyanka believes taking her social responsibility' as a human being seriously. From being made UNICEF's goodwill ambassador to advocating health, education and safety for girls from all over the world, she contributes to several social causes. She has used the public platform to address issues like body shaming, and talk about the misconception around feminism and what it truly means.

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam might have gone wrong with her slip-ups in few interviews, but her open letters, and stance on various issues is winning many hearts. She recently spoke at length in her open letter I didn't wake up like this' about the unrealistic expectations around celebrity flawlessness.

special mention: (not added due to limited options)

SRK Meer Foundation

Sonali Bendre- cancer

Vivek Oberoi- helped acid attack victims

Deepika,Shah,Priyanka,Nandita,Sushant.Thes people have actually put effort in their initiatives. They don't do lipservice. They are making a change from a fundamental level.

Salman shouldnt be considered. Abusing, killing human beings and animals and then doing charity to change your image? Only vile creatures do that. As much as I am happy for any being human help recipient I just know it didn't come from a place to actually make a change. It was all a part of a grand image makeover and that money is dirty in a lot more ways than one. I would heed to your request of no bashing in this thread. I just dont think he should be on the list and this is my reasoning as to why.

I have added him for his Being human foundation
the work some other celebrities do is less well known than his being human.
Anyway good you agree with most of the options

Deepika and priyanka... They do promote the social cause as much as possible so it helps more people and the word spreads more... Others I read sparingly ... So yea these two for me...
Edited :

Despite being a Ranveer fan, this is the first time I read about his work with the kids... Though I am guilty of not searching for his articles. This work with Akshay Parts, wasn't posted on IF...my main source of information...

So yea he needs to be more vocal about it... Though i love his venture about talented musicians from lower strata of society...

None of them. All are PR exercises. Nana Patekar brought the most social change and was doing lot of good selfless work for farmers before he was unfairly witch-hunted by the media for their TRPs.
