I don't care for the spoiler that says taht Sikka will beg Kulfi not to sing --who is he and what right does he have to do that when he has not taken care of her at all, compared to how he fawns over Amyra? Why should Kulfi, or any daughter left to the wolves to take care of herself most of the time, accede to his request. We know that Kulfi, being jagnamata, will listen and do her "Guru's" bidding. You know what, Minti, this is reminding me of Dronacharya and Ekalavya in the Mahabharata. Drona was the Pandava's teacher of archery. He had Arjuna as his favorite student and vowed to make him the best archer alive. Ekalavya was a tribal boy who comes to Drona for archery instruction. Drona says he does not teach lowly tribals. The boy has great devotion for Drona as his Guru and goes to a nearby forest, makes a clay image of Drona and practices archery all by himself. He outdoes all the princes who are getting instructed daily by Drona. One day Drona discovers that a target, which the princes were not able to hit is hit by Ekalavya. He asks Ekalavya how he got to be such a good archer. Foolish Ekalavya narrates how he repaired to the forest, made a clay bust of Drona, and took blessings from the clay image and practiced his archery. The Deadly Drona then had the temerity to ask Ekalavya "guru-dakshina," a gift that is given at the end of one's studies to one's guru. Ekalavya said that he was a poor boy and could not afford much, but would be happy to give Drona anything he asked. The sly Drona then asks Ekalavya to cut off his thumbs and place them at his feet as gurudakshina. This would ensure that without his thumbs, Ekalavya could never practice archery, and Drona could keep his word given to Arjuna to make Arjuna the best archer ever. Knowing full well the costs of cutting off his thumbs, Ekalavya wordlessly takes out a dagger, lops off his thumbs, and lays them at the feet of the so-called conscience-less and un-compassionate  "Guru."

Kulfi is Ekalavya. Far away from father or Guru figure, she thrives, somehow or the other, making best of situations and retaining her innocence in the process. Sikandar is Drona. Like Drona, he never really took care of Kulfi, yet feels that he has the right to ask Kulfi to suppress her skills so that the pampered princess Amyra, who is the modern day Arjuna, can be the best singer. So sick and so disturbing. Ugh
