I'm not 😆 I think he's the king of historical dramas ⭐️ and no one does them better than him (when it comes to male actors).

Though I did read some comments over here which criticised Ranveer's decision to do another period film. Do you think this will be his last?

well he balances it out by doing alot of other genres, so i think its fine for him to do another historical, the characters and stories of the three historical films are all different to each other

Right ... Ram-Leela is set in modern times! .. But the look given to him bears more resemblance with history looks .. I guess costume drama more like... so I counted it as 3 (-😆)... with Takht 4! .. I would like to see him and even others in modern flicks [I personally don't like historical dramas]!

Ram Leela is set in a fictional village in Gujarat. The "costumes" you are talking about are traditional Gujarati clothes. It's just a movie based in a rural area.

It is by no means a historical drama. 😆

Didn't I clarify in the post of mine you quoted that it is set in "modern times"! ... Rest my answer stays the same!

No, period historical movies have become his USP so there is no harm in cashing on it while the period/historical movies trend last. Also he is smart enough to balance them out and not to get typecasted in such roles only.

In 2015 he did Dil Dalhakne Do (urban family drama) and Bajirao Mastani which showed that he can carry both urban and historical roles effortlessly.

A negative role in Padmaavat and a cop role in a typical masala movie further established his range.

He played a rapper in Gully Boy. Takht is slated to release in 2020 and before that in April, 83 (a sports movie based on 83 world cup win) will release.

So if one looks at his filmography it can be seen he has consciously or unconciously made an effort to space out his historicals and do movies of different genres in between his historicals.

Yeah agree with everything.
