Why so much hate for Arjun Kapoor?

I was going through some previous threads and I couldn't help but notice so much hate for Arjun Kapoor.

I still remember how I despised him when I saw him for the first time on screen. He looked like a total gunda and not a hero at all judging by the looks. But then I actually liked him in 2 states and after 2 states I watched his first movie, Ishaqzade and though Pari stole the show for me, I liked his acting too. I don't remember watching any other movie of him again. 😕

Now talking about his offscreen personality, again as I said I didn't like him only because he gave gunda and snooty kinda vibes but then I watched him with Ranveer Singh in KWK, and man I liked their chemistry better than so many BW couples.😆 Then I watched his offscreen clips with RS and enjoyed their camaraderie. I started enjoying his funny side. Then in the last season of KWK where he appeared in almost every episode, especially the one with Anu and Kat, I found him really funny and a boy next door kinda guy.

But here in IF, I always find him at the receiving end, not only because he is not a good actor but he actually gets a lot of brickbats for his personal life. Is it because of his relationship with Malaika? Or is it something I'm missing?

I like him but he is someone who doesn't take advantage of his opportunities and wastes them.
Other star kids, nepotism debate asides, at least don't take it for granted.
They work hard, even if it is only making body, he is not even arsed to do that.
He is much less talented version of Abhishek Bachchan( who himself is just about decent), in terms of being lazy and not reinventing himself.

I actually find him not quite ambitious and given the amount of opportunities he got, he went AB jr way and not like other Nepo kids who utilised the opportunity per SE Alia or VD. I don't know if it's because of bad script sense or what.

But I still don't understand the hate, so much flak he receives.😕

Anushka friend zoned him on KWK while Kat brozoned him. But still why so many people despise him here? Getting brozoned/friend zoned is a criteria to get hated?😆

well he isn't successful, hence.
Only Alia is the exception to that rule, baaki jo successful hai, uski koi na koi toh support karta hai, even if not everyone.

Alia's got Kjo's support too but the way we can't deny that, the same way we can't deny the fact that Alia is a good actress.

Arjun has a producer dad, but u think because of their personal issues he couldn't milk that opportunity. Plus I don't find him a great actor. I find him mediocre. I only liked him in 2 states and Ishaqzade. And a few random scenes here and there. I thought he might click in some comedy movies or a negative role might suit him.

forum ki baat kar raha hu 😆, that Alia ko chorr ke baki sab successful actors do get support or at least sympathy.
Arjun was not that much hated when he was lean and looked rugged.
Mota aur flop hone ke baad people started bashing him(me included).
