So, while waiting for Game of Thrones, I thought back on which book to movie adaptation did I like the most?
My answer is The Namesake. 😊

What about you?

I never read the book but War and Peace (1956) movie adaptation was amazing

Both the story and the performance... It's based on true historical account, set during Napoleon era

Clueless. Its a modern day adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma. It is a clever, sassy, satire on teenage life in Beverly Hills. Alicia Silverstone is spot on as Cher Horowitz, the valley girl version of Emma. Prior to Mean Girls this was the best teenage movie in my books. It has since been bumped by Mean Girls and Easy A.

Vishal Bharadwaj's Shakespeare trilogy is also good.

Literal adaptations tend to lose the essence of the book. I tend to enjoy reinterpretations in different eras and contexts.
