So what exactly what went wrong with the film?

I think the negative things for me was that two 30 year olds are pretending to be way younger than what they are. Comedy was a little cheesy (I know it's for kids) and the music got annoying. For those who saw it in theaters what were the responses like? I feel as it is a kid film I was a little shocked to read why it flopped.

Ranbir Kapoor definitely didn't look like a school student. I haven't watched the film, just Galti se Mistake.

it is indeed a good movie. I guess the story telling in form of rhyming songs worked against the movie.otherwise its a very cute movie.

It was a good movie but the hype surrounding it was meh.
Both Katrina and Ranbir were at their worst phase as stars.

But the main reason it failed was the story telling pattern, musical which isn't something people here are accustom to, plus it was a kids movie.

Plus lets not forget it was in making for ages, and these kind of movies most of times don't do well.

I saw it fdfs and the response was simply disastrous .Everyone wanted to run to the nearest exit far far away from the film .

It tried to do too much. Detective story, love story and a musical. Should of tried to make it more simple

I loved JJ.. one of my most Fav. What a artistic movie...!!

Rabir and Katrina were just so cute and natural. And I love that it was musical. It was such a refreshing change.

I don't think the theme was the actual problem. I absolutely loved it and many other people as well around me. Problematic was the timing imo. The movie was too long. Just how it's shown in the movie, there are three books of Jagga's adventure, they should have made the movie in three parts as well instead of throwing whatever into the movie.

Overall, it was a very nice movie. The ending had me really shook.😆
