I always stated that BW people are opportunists and the only thing they are after is their own vested interest and nothing else .

You say that like its a bad thing or only BW stars do it. I have news for you, everyone does it including you and me. We all think of ourselves first and sometimes nothing else. It's the reality of the world today.

Having a political opinion is a dangerous double-edged sword. You have to give smart answers without offending any side because you never know where the wind blows next. Its not easy and hence they fumble.

Some people in this country are too sensitive and the media loves to create a tamasha when there isn't one - for example the Shahrukh interview by Rajdeep. I am specifically talking Rajdeep's name because in the short reruns of the interview, he edited it in a way that made it seem like Shahrukh was only taking about India when he said intolerance is on the rise, when in reality, he spoke about the overall global scenario and the rise of social media which has given a platform to many dissenting voices. When Amitabh Bachchan refused to answer a similar question put by Rajdeep (I think it was during the success of Piku), Rajdeep asked him if it was because he didn't wish to walk into a trap to which Bachchan said, 'Ah, so you agree it's a trap'.
Honestly, I'd stay out of politics too if I were in their position. It's an invitation to unnecessary drama.

Absolutely agree with this. But why would anyone air their political literacy in a public space when their lives, their close ones' lives their homes, properties, sets, livelihood of theirs and thousands of people could get destroyed with one political comment or leaning. Bollywood people should be multi-political in my opinion lol. Its the only way they can survive. If someone declares their leanings now towards the present government what happens when governments change.

This quote is only apt for an ideal world where you face zero consequences when you declare a side or leaning. So whether these two or anyone in Bolly have any political literacy or not, asking them to reveal it publicly and or saying they shouldnt say 'apolitical' is asking too much of them I feel.

That said the question was definitely a logical one. It was a good question. But the veteran Anupama is, she should have known no way they would answer this with their political opinions. Not her fault but still. Should have known better.
