Tapsee and Bhumi start shooting for Anurag Kashyap's Womaniya

Since the past few weeks, it is being reported that Anurag Kashyap's Womaniya has been shelved due to budgetary issues, but today, film-maker Anurag Kashyap took to social media to put all the rumors to rest as he announced that he is finally kick-starting the shooting of Womaniya. Besides the news of the film being shelved, Anurag Kashyap and Pritish Nandy were at loggerheads over the title because reports suggest that Kashyap, who holds the Intellectual Property Rights for the term womaniya' for his film Gangs of Wasseypur song couldn't officially register it as the film's title since the title has already been registered under Pritish Nandy Communications Ltd.

But amidst all the controversies, the shooting of the sports drama has finally started and an ecstatic Taapsee Pannu took to Instagram to post a picture with Anurag and Bhumi as she wrote, "Kabhi humaari picture shelve karva dete hai kabhi title ki maara maari, maine sochamain Khud hi picture announce kar deti hu through my PERSONAL MEDIANET ab jisko joukhaadna hai ukhaad lo ! Kickstarting the shoot of our country's oldest and coolest shooters #Chandro #Prakashi. In this picture, the cast of the film is posing with country's oldest shooters- Chandro and Prakashi. Anurang too took to social media to write, "Ab hogiSHOOTING! This is one story that is waiting to be told! More power to these women! @bhumipednekar @taapsee..

Womaniya is a sports drama film based on the UP-based octogenarian sharpshooters Chandro and Prakashi Tomar and the film is being directed by debutante director Tushar Hiranandani. On the work front, Taapsee will next be seen in Tadka, Badla and Mission Mangal, whereas Bhumi will appear in Sonchiriya, Dolly Kitty Aur Wog Chamakte Sitare,and Takht.
