Hi Maria! Thanks for agreeing to be interviewed for the week! So, for how long have you been making stuff? What are your favourite types to make?
Well i started my creations gallery in 2012 so one could say i have been photoshopping for 6 years.
I love making everything be it something non-animated, animated sigs, gifs or just tags. Its a different experience working on them each time because i try my best to have different outcomes. I learned making animated signatures a few months back only and i think working on them is so far my favourite experience because one gets the oppurtunity to play with so many textures 😳
Well, well, animated siggies are my favourites too! So, you've been like crazy active for the past few days, what inspires you to create the beauties up there?
oh well tbh i haven't been active lately at all. Extreme lack of motivation is the culprit 😆 But i am going to start this week only, i have a couple of ideas piled up as well😉I think there are 2 factors which always inspire me, first is my love for a particular scene/couple and secondly is the response i receive. Both the things are equally important for me. Even if one thing is missing, it reflects on the qaulity of my work🤔Other things that inspire me on IFs are other creators who are experimenting out new styles. It always encourages me to try something new as well and not just stick to old methods😳
That's an interesting outlook. One should always try to get out of their comfort zone to better themselves. Speaking of outside, do you have any hobbies outside of India-Forums?
Well there was a time when reading novels was my biggest hobby. After reading all the famous books, I would excitedly explore new authors...but due to my studies i had to leave my reading habits. The only reading i do now is my text books. For the moment my hobby outside IF's are travelling and trying out new dishes 😆I am sorry but i have literally no fixed hobbies😳
That's so cool! Being flexible isn't something that comes easily to many! Now could you tell us what are you r favourite books though? 😛
oh well there is no single book, there is a long list but just for the sake of the interview the Harry Potter series😆, the Hunger games series and lastly all the books by Dan Brown and Harlen Coben.
Those are excellent choices really! I've read the HP series, and guess I need to check out the rest ASAP! 😛 Okay, and could you tell us more about your graphic preferences? Do you have any favourite resource that you can't do without? 😃
Oh yes please do read, they are all amazing books 😃 The hunger games is a must read! About the others it depends on your choice of genre, if you want to go with crime/detective theme than Dan Brown and Harlen Coben books are for you. Or if you like reading something light and humorous then Sophie Kinsella is the one😉
My favourite resource would be a couple of PSD's. There are 2 which are my absolute favourite in particular because they work on all kinds of scenes, be they dark, bright or anything. Unfortunately i don't have the deviantart link saved with me for the first psd but the second one is made by Mehwish, a talented member of IFs only. Here is the LINK to it. This PSD is gold. It never fails me.
Thanks for sharing the link though. It's really gorgeous. Now, since you've been in the business for so long, do you have any tips for the newcomers and aspiring artists in the field of graphic designing?
Well my tip would be to not give up! In the early days, the outcome of whatever you make might not reach the required standard (even after a lot of hard work), but it just does not mean you are not artistic or good enough. Its all about learning. One should keep in mind that learning does not stop at any point. Each time you work on a signature or a gif, you learn something new, this experience is what teaches you how to improve. Don't just give up. If you have achieved perfection in blending and colouring then move on to text styles, try different fonts, similarly try new textures etc and this is how you will improve😳
