After her, I do not think there will be one. mainly due to the audience having a preference for content in films.
popularity is different than suprstardom
and imo she is the last one

what do you think?

I was discussing the same with friends today
A lot of people agreed she is the last superstar, as times have changed and most new faces don't have that aura.

Also, content is being preferred over stars- this new dynamic can end the era of superstardom, not just for females, but males as well.

Uri proves this point

Well people like Alia are no competition to her I feel, but whether there will be another superstar is questionable

what is the criteria based on which you came to this conclusion
Based on the criteria is how I want to decide if she is a "superstar" or not

For eg

for me one of the main criteria is if she has given super hits carrying the film on her shoulders alone...

Both Madhuri and Sridevi have done that ...

when people go to the movies for the actor alone , I know people used to go to watch Sri and Madhuri alone irrespective of who they were paired with...

For me personally, the last superstar were Madhuri and Sridevi

The rest have yet to prove themselves in all criteria

She was a mere showpiece in her last film.

Deepika has reached a great height of stardom.
But Madhuri/Sri in their peek were in the truest sense the last female superstars. For Madhuri ppl went to watch movies just because she was in them.
Their presence alone made even average movies good. The craze for MD's comeback after 5 years even though film itself didn't do that well commercially, but the public was still mad about her.

So no I don't think she is the last female superstar in that sense, she is still very much relying upon good content and packaging/presentation of a movie. But when it comes to stardom I think Deepika and Katrina until 2012 even with her lack of acting ability is the closest anyone's got to, to the female superstar tag.

Haha had Madhuri/Sridevi given pathetic wooden performances like in Bajirao and Padmavaat they would have been booted out. 🤣

Deepika is nowhere close to their beauty, charm, acting, dancing skills and last but not the least stardom. 😆
