Varun deserves awards for October?

Was watching October again and was impressed by Varun's acting. He was just so natural and effortless in the role as Dan. This film is proper offbeat and I'm sure would have made less money with any other star except perhaps a Ranbir/Ranveer.

Do you guys think Varun has star power? To me, he shines in this film. He carries the film on his shoulders...is restrained and mature. His humour is innate, but his understanding of pain and how it affects the human behaviour is even better. It's a terrific performance, his best for sure.

His subtle demeanour, non-glamourous look reeking innocence is such a pleasure to watch.

Does he deserve awards for this or will he be overshadowed in awards functions?

I think he will be overshadowed , may get critics award . But Dan was wonderful, beautifully written and acted with great restraint. Wish VD chooses something similar to October in future.

He was good but others were better.

If u compare his performance with ranveer in padmavat, ayyushman in andhadhun, rajkumar rao in stree, ranbir in sanju.. His performance isnt that great.

I think he wont win critics awards either.. Cuz of so much competition.

Not every slow movie without songs is a good movie with good acting so answer is NO , he doesn't deserve any award but Ayushman deserves this year or Raj Kumar for Stree
