Need some laugh-out-loud recommendations - slapstick, black humor, subtle, over-the-top,clever - any kind of humor is good. No crude stuff though. Not averse to regional cinema, but would prefer Bollywood/Hollywood.

I have watched The Party ages ago but I cannot forget Hrundi V Bakshi. 😛😆 I do suspect I may find some of the stereotyping problematic if I rewatch now.

Have watched all the bolded movies. Love Hrishida and Basuda's comedies. Pushpak is another gem.
I loved Munnabhai 1, 2 was okay.
Bareilly ki Barfi and Piku were fun. Hindi Medium was funny for a bit and then it just got sad.
Bhootnath is funny? I must give it a try. Thanks for all the other recommendations. APKGK has been on my watch list forever but haven't gotten around to watching it. Is it funny?
Phans gaya re Obama - I really need to watch.
What is the new Khatta Meetha? (I have watched the old one with Ashok Kumar)

I have watched the Chaplin movies years ago, need to rewatch.
Somehow I found Jim Carrey too over-the-top for my taste so have been avoiding his movies. I enjoyed "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind" though, so maybe I need to give him a chance.
Tom Hanks is always likeable. And Back to the Future is my go-to Sci-fi favorite.
FWAF was on TV recently and I was taken aback to see Hugh Grant look like such a baby!😆 It's fun. I like Brit comedies, their brand of humor is so different from American humor.

As opposed to the extreme PC in today's HW movies, old HW's portrayal of minorities was the polar opposite, laughably stereotypical

But I didn't have any problem with this movie

So this was Indira Gandhi's fav line

"In India we don't think who we are, we know who we are!", the character's reply to a hostile "who do you think you are?"

My fav line of Bakshi is " Does that include television Sir? "
I've never laughed so hard 😆
