I am pretty sure the person behind the twitter handle isn't a police officer/inspector/constable skipping his work. Also, a lot of times people do reach out via social media as well. I have seen it happen several times on the UP police Twitter handle.

of course they do their job... Do you even know how grueling their schedule is... plus these few people are hired to manage this handle...its not like all the police guys left their duty and tweeting on twitter like us vella people

Its a PR team. Their job is to make Mumbai police accessible, cool n friendly! And they are doing a fine job with it.

happens on Mumbai Police handle too... they always respond and direct the person to the specific authority... also in case of security / emergency issues, they follow back the person and tell the person to dm his / her phone number for more secure interaction
