Looks like 2019 is going to be extra special for all the Salman Khan fans because besides Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat, Salman will start shooting for the third installment of the Dabangg franchise. That's right! And before you question this piece of news, we want to tell you that none other than the producer of the film, Arbaaz Khan, has given the confirmation. According to a report, Dabangg 3 will go on floors in April this year. "Yes, Dabangg 3 will go on the floors in April, however we are still contemplating the locations. At this point, all that I can say that the film features Salman Khan in lead and will be directed by Prabhudeva, as quoted by Mumbai Mirror.

In September last year, Dabangg completed eight years and that is when Salman Khan andSonakshi Sinha made an official announcement of Dabangg 3 on their social media channels. While Dabangg was helmed by Abhinav Kashyap, Dabangg 2 was directed by Arbaaz Khan and for the third installment; Prabhudeva will step into the director shoes. But before Salman Khan begins shooting for Dabangg 3, the actor will wrap up Ali Abbas Zafar's period drama and then, slip into the uniform of a cop and don the role of Chulbul Pandey.

As soon as the third installment of the film was announced, reports were rife that Dabangg 3 will be inspired by the real-life story of a cop based in Noida but when Arbaaz Khan was quizzed about it, he informed that he would like to maintain a certain amount of secrecy about the plot of the film and would reveal at the right time. Arbaaz said, "I have been reading a lot about Dabangg 3 on the social media, some say it is a remake, some say it is inspired by real life incident, some say it is set in Noida. At present, I would like to maintain some secrecy around it.

Salman Khan and Prabudeva have last worked in the 2009-film Wanted which went on to become successful at the box office. Talking about the lead actress, it will be interesting to see if Sonakshi Sinhareturns as Salman Khan's Rajju in Dabangg 3. On the work front, After Race 3, Salman Khan will next be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat starring Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, and Sunil Grover and the actor is currently shooting for the film in Mumbai.
