Bela as a Naagrani always had a sense of fairness and justice. While she always maintained a compsure and fought problems and her enemies sensibly. As a human she fell prey to human follies and made certain grave errors in judgement.
Bela always thought from her perspective whenever she thought of telling the truth to Mahir. She always felt that Mahir will not accept her. She never tried to think about or imagine what pain as a lover, husband, brother Mahir would go through about learning the truths that she has been hiding. She even has hidden the truth of Poulo"s death from him.
There is also this thing that Bela craved for love. She didn't find herself immune to Mahir's love and care even when she used to think of him as a murderer. With time her resolve to confess the truth to him just got weaker and weaker. To the point that she started dreaming of a normal future with Mahir, not taking into account all of that has happened which could hold great importance in Mahir's life.
It is a human tendency to suppress bad memories or ugly truths in order to live peacefully and avoid undesirable circumstances.
Bela could not look past the myopic view she had.
It is also true though that getting into this mess wasn't entirely Bela's choice. When she swore revenge for Vikrant's death she could not have imagined that the basis for which she is seeking revenge doesn't actually exist. Moreover Vikrant himself was backstabbing her only. By the time she learnt about Vikrant it was already too late.
What she could not have imagined also was that the person she wanted to kill would go on to become the person she madly falls in love with. If she wasn't in love with Mahir, it would have been easy to share the truth as she won't dread losing him. Loving him and not wanting to lose him made her delay saying what she should have said long ago.
