@red - WORD. How can a sensible human being not for one moment DOUBT a man like Navuu...whose mere presence (as confessed by her, in her self-talks) creeps her out, makes her uncomfortable. I mean, forget Anurag, forget his obsession about righting your life..use your effing brains for once. What kind of man falls in love immediately after breaking off a marriage and then gets so overexcited about the next marriage, just the same? How can Pre not feel the creeps?? What does she think Navin will do once she's taken to London?
A couple weeks back (or less, I dont quite remember), there were a couple of posts floating around the forum where Pre's portrayal of stupidity and thick-headedness was rebuked, since the writers felt it was all done to make Anu look like a hero and glorify him. I respect people's opinions, which is I did not stop by and debate the same, but then I did not quite agree with the fact that Pre WAS an independent, smart sorted woman.
A young woman, who has her whole life ahead of her, agrees to "sell herself" to a man in exchange for her family's survival/happiness/call it what you will when there are multiple options to get out of this rut -- how is this smart? How is it divine love or whatever? The way the character arch has been shaped, for both Pre and Anu, it's Pre here who looks disinterested in the consequences of her life post-wedding and Anu who looks frustrated, lost, clueless and helpless. Not what heroes are usually portrayed as. How is Prerna an independent, strong woman here? Strong women use their effing brains, their intuition is turned on at least a few hours a day and they can smell consequences from a mile away. They know it isn't gonna be easy, but they can't buckle up and give in.
Give in - that's what Pre has done here. B.S. martyrdom it is! I so dont buy it. And so if it gives a feeling that Pre is an utter idiot, well, who can be blamed?
