For a show which was a last minute decision and which was not properly planned either unlike Shani,MK or Porus, this show has managed to secure good ratings. It's good that Swastik had talented actors like Kartikeya and SRJ on their hands who are household names and who bring appeal to the show for actors are the most important element in a show after the script.
I am sure all of are well acquainted with Swastik shows and how they work. They will show everything except factual stuff be it with history or mythos.
So all we can hope is for an entertaining script which does justice to the characters as well.
I feel they need to increase the pace of the show and make CGM-Chanakya interact and reveal stuff about CGM's past. What I am looking forward to is the Guru-Shishya relationship. If they manage to do that well then half of the work is done.
DN is the central antagonist before Seleucus takes over so naturally he is getting focus as well.Eventually DN will die and Seleucus will become the main villain. So he will get the limelight then.Thats how it has been in all Swastik shows. The hero as well as the villain got ample SS.
About the actors then IMO,SRJ is doing a brilliant job as Dhananand. As someone who was an ardent fan of NDTV Imagine CGM,I cannot find any similarity between Sooraj ji's portrayal of DN and SRJ's portrayal's of DN except that both are eccentric and psychotic.Sooraj ji's DN was rather scary whereas SRJ's DN is extremely attractive.
The way SRJ enacts DN is a style of portraying villains. Some kind of villains are cold blooded and subtle while others are unpredictable and menacing.Sony DN belongs to the latter category.
Kartikeya impressed me a lot as CGM.I have seen the kid in Shani and he is a prodigy. He was brilliant in Shani and he will surely go places.I am looking forward to watch his face offs with DN.IMHO these two are the pillars of the show.
Tarun as Chanakya was a disappointment lately. For I believe Chanakya is supposed to have an aura which Tarun lacks.
Let's see how his scenes with CGM turn out to be.
