The Kunal mishti thing has been so underwhelming just like the rest of the show. Every episode is underwhelming. I don't know who their writers or editors are. As usual it feels like Kunal and Mauli are written by two different writers. Kunal/Mishti lack that father daughter magic. Like usually when parent kid are reunited on tv even before they find out out the truth you can see that they have some sort of connection. They feel a pull toward each other. They feel some sort of unexplainable love. Either it's that or negative tension, but something is always there. There is nothing like that here. Kunal feels Mishti is a "sweet kid". I have met my friend's fathers and mothers who I bonded better with on first few meetings. For Mishti she has no yearning for a father like Pari has for mother. Ishaan has filled that role for her quite well. Mishti likes Kunal and despite the medicine and the ice cream scene it doesn't seem like there is anything special there from her side. As a viewer I don't care whether Mishti ever learn Kunal is her father because for now nothing seems to be missing from her life. And it is not even because Ishaan exists. Whenever this type of story is played on screen there is always a good character like Ishaan who loves the kid that is not his own. But the kid still yearns for the real thing. That is not there for Mishti's case. Unless I am forgetting something I don't think she mentioned her father even once. In all of this mess if there is one connection that has lived up to my expectations, or surpassed it is the Mauli and Pari relationship. Pari sets Mauli's spider senses tingling. First Pari gives Mauli the Nandini vibes. Kunal should've gotten some sort of vibe around his own daughter, but nope! Then Mauli got to bond with Pari. In one day Pari realized what having a mother must feel like because Mauli doted on her. Mauli made special food for her. Mauli showed her physical affection. Pari feels a strong bond with Mauli. Pari keeps saying she would want a Mauli like mom.
These writers need to do better with Kunal/Mishti story. For an Indian tv serieal they really suck with the drama that makes these shows a guilty pleasure.
