FruitToasty:
Rajh does have a point. Misty ideally should not have a Malhotra surname, since her parents are divorced. If Mauli and Ishan get married, then she might adopt the Khanna surname too. So, technically she's not a Malhotra beti anymore.

First of all, I am glad that Mishti is not a Malhotra because she's Mauli's daughter.
My point is that Mauli has taken care of Malhotra family for years, even when the Malhotra son left them for Nandini. Malhotra son cut his tie with Malhotra Ma and Dida to an extent that he didn't even inquire about their well being because if he had he would have come to know about Mauli's non-Malhotra child, who by the way has 23 Malhotra chromosomes.

The thing is that Radhika made this claim about Kunal not being her son, so she disowned him and she said Mauli is her daughter and Mauli has been nibhaoing every responsibility of a daughter but just because she is not related to them by blood, she doesn't have rights, so all the responsibilities are for non-malhotra people and all the rights are for Malhotra people.

Anyway, I don't give two hoots about the Malhotra last name, but for sake of the story and what they have shown, the house belongs to Mauli and Mishti is very much daughter of the house, it's not only about father's identity when her mother is self reliant

Pari being born out of wedlock isn't her fault. If the older malhotra women want a relationship with pari,I am pretty sure they wouldn't love her or think of her any less just because she is born out of wedlock.

And the malhotra name isnt a huge prize or something. It is only a name and after mauli's divorce mishti obviously wouldn't be a malhotra.
Also, the family and the people are their (mishti's and mauli's) but legally would the flat be mauli's too?

Makers linked it with Nandini. It's literally recreation of the scene where Nandini had entered. Might not be exact but still it brought that scene in mind..

I've seen people take their dad's surname even after divorces... so Mishti can be Mishti Malhotra but that's up to Mauli and fam to decide. And if Mauli marries Ishaan, Mishti will Mishti Khanna. But till then just like Pari, Mishti too is a ghar ki beti.

Ok so I m confused. If parents r divorced n there is a child involved, the child doesn't get father's name?

This is not about Malhotra family name, Mishti can be or can not be a Malhotra, it's not like Kunal is the only man with this last name.

The thing is if Mauli and Mishti have no rights in the home they are living in, then why Mauli is working day and night to provide for Malhotra women, their son left them without a thought but still his rights are reserved because he is son of the house, ridiculous.

Dida and Radhika disowned Kunal for Mauli, for them Mauli is family not Kunal

I think Maulis home is kunals true home ..maybe that's where he grew up with his mother and grandmother ..so maybe it just signifies his daughter Pari returning to the family home because radhika and dida are her blood family. Mishty Maulis daughter is already there and she is older so she is the big daughter of the house. I think the footprints was symbolising that pari returned to her family home. I don't think it implies anything for Mauli and Kunal. Remember Mauli has become radhika daughter now. ,Maybe we will get an end where Kunal hands over pari to Mauli and Ishaan And radhika and he either dies or goes away. I really can't see a Mauli Kunal reunion ...he's not worthy of her . But I do think the flowers falling on Mauli and Ishaan indicates that they are going to be together 😊

I am sorry but i am not getting the point of the discussion here.
What is the relation between a symbolic scene of Pari entering house and Mouli and Misthi suddenly becoming strangers or non-owners of house. It's their house where they are living. If the point is that they shouldn't have shown a grihapravesh type scene, then i agree. I am not a fan of these tacky symbolism but the creatives of SBRK and of ITV shows in general seem to be a big fans of these.
I am pretty sure when Mishti introduces her firend Pari in monday's episode, we may see winds blowing up on Mouli (providing this is first time she is seeing Pari) 😆. Likewise a similar scene when Kunal meets Mishti 😆
