Chapter 13
A day later Mahek regained her consciousness and was shifted to her private room. When she opened her eyes,Shaurya and the kids were sitting on her bed with flowers and balloons. "Hey mommy! Welcome back!'' Both children cried out. A smile appeared on Mahek's lips seeing her family around her. "Ayaan my baccha! Ahana my baby girl! Come to mommy!'' With watery eyes Ayaan and Ahana crawled on the bed and slept on their mommy's chest. They cooed like tiny babies when Mahek kissed their heads. "How's my babies?'' "We are good but We missed you mommy..'' Both said in unison. "Aww i missed you too! See I'm back now! safe and sound..come on give mommy a kiss!'' Kids rained her face with gentle kisses. "Ahana,be careful with mommy's head,it will hurt if you bump into it.'' Ayaan warned his sister. "I know bhai! I won't touch mommy's head.'' Replied Little Ahana. Mahek saw Shaurya sitting there with a rose,his eyes were glossy with tears. "Can I meet your daddy now?'' She asked her children. "Of course mom! We'll be outside in the play area. Dad call us when you are done.'' Said Ayaan,Grabbing his sisters chubby hands he stepped out of the room. "Hey..'' Shaurya leaned on her and pressed his lips on her forehead. "Hey..'' she smiled and caressed his hairy cheeks while he looked into her amber eyes. "You made it babe!'' He pressed her hands to his lips and kissed her fingers. "Yes I did! I came back for you..for our children..'' Tears formed in her eyes. "No tears ok? I need you to be happy from now onwards..'' He Rained her face with feather like gentle kisses. "For you..'' he handed her the rose. Taking it Mahek sniffed the fragrance and looked around the room in awe. "Our cuties did it...do you like it?'' Asked Shaurya. "I'm amazed! It's beautiful Shaurya...flowers,balloons,drawings..it's breathtaking! Thank you!'' Shaurya rubbed her cheeks with the back of his fingers. "Anything for you babe! Tomorrow we are taking you home! There are huge surprises waiting for you.'' Mahek smiled. "I can hardly wait now! Can you help me sit up? I wanna hug you and feel your warmth'' Shaurya helped her to sit up and placed pillows behind her. He then sat beside her leaning on the headboard. "Come here!'' He helped her to rest her head on his chest. Mahek hugged him. "I missed you so much!'' Shaurya brought his arm around her shoulder and kept it there protectively. She hugged and snuggled in him. "It feels so good in your arms and when I'm closer to your heart it feels heavenly.'' She said softly. Shaurya rubbed her back. "I missed you Mahek...I'm happy that you made it my fighter! I cant really tell you how much I love you right now!'' They sat like that for few minutes,rubbing and caressing each other. Shaurya whispered loving words in her ears and she giggled happily. "My treatment must have cost you a fortune isn't it Shaurya?'' She asked after a while. "Don't worry about it..it's been taken care of.'' Mahek noticed He was avoiding her eyes. "What is it Shaurya? Is something bothering you?'' Shaurya covered it up with a smile. "Nothing is bothering me babes..I'm just too tired that's all.'' Mahek kissed his throat. "When I come home I want you to take some time off from work and take plenty of rests. I will take care of everything I promise.'' She told him. "If I stay at home with you,I won't rest babe! I'll be crazy busy with you doing sweet things to your body.'' Mahek's face turned the colour of a beetroot. "Tum bhi na Shaurya!'' She punched him gently on his chest. Shaurya chuckled. "Dad,if you are done with mommy can we come in?'' Ayaan hollered from outside. "I'm not done with your mommy but yes you can both come in.'' Said Shaurya. The door opened and both kids stepped inside. They saw their mommy in their daddy's arms and they were awed. "Come on hop on the bed! Mommy was just cuddling me.'' Shaurya told them. "We can see that..'' Both said it together and giggled. They were very happy to see their parents like that. Flashing their missing teeth they hopped on the bed and watched their mommy daddy in awe. "Our palents are sooo beautiful!'' Whispered Ahana. "It's parents stupid!'' Ayaan corrected her. "Han wahi bhai! And I'm in love with them! They remind me of the two cute birdies in our backyard.'' Ahana blushed. "You mean totha mayna?'' Asked Ayaan. "Hmm..mommy and daddy are our totha mayna Who are very much in love.'' Giggled Ahana. "What are you two whispering?'' Asked Mahek. "I just gave you both a new name mommy!'' Said Ahana. "Really? What is it baby girl?'' Asked Shaurya. "It's totha and mayna! You are totha and mommy is your mayna! How is it daddy?'' MehRya laughed. "I think it's great ..it's beautiful!'' Replied Shaurya. "Thanks daddy I knew you'd say that!'' She flashed her teeth. "Can you tell mommy that you love her one more time? Please? We just love it when you say that to mommy.'' Ahana insisted cutely. Shaurya gave her a Thumps up and looked at Mahek. "Mahek,I love you like Romeo loves Juliet!'' Mahek blushed. "Aww..look at them bhai! Aren't they cute?'' Ahana was all happy again! Ayaan was smiling too. "Yes they are very cute! It's your turn mom!'' Reminded Ayaan. Mahek looked at Shaurya and palmed his cheeks. "Shaurya,I love you like Winnie the Pooh loves honey!'' "Oh mommy! That's so sweet! I think I'm gonna die from sweetness!'' Said Ahana and dropped on the bed pretending to be unconscious. Everyone laughed. Ayaan clicked a lot of pictures of his parents and his sister. "Just then Sonal and Simran stepped in the room with fruits and snacks. Mahek was happy to see them and vice versa. Friends started chatting. "You guys talk I'll be back with supper.'' Shaurya told Mahek and left with the kids to fetch supper for them. "I heard your honeybuns is throwing a party for you!'' Teased Simran. "I know and I can't wait for tomorrow! And the kids are telling me their dad has surprises planned for tomorrow..I wonder what the surprises could be?'' Wondered Mahek."I think I know but I'll wait for your honeybuns to sweep you off your feet!'' Said Sonal. "Whatever he has planned I won't object..After so long we are all together as a family..I missed Shaurya for the past 6 yrs..now that we have each other I want to give him all the happiness I can.'' Mahek's eyes watered. "Give him a baby then!'' Suggested Simran. "I was thinking the same.'' Saying that Mahek blushed.
Later that evening after eating with their parents,Ayaan and Ahana left with their masi's. "I'll be home as soon as mommy is asleep.'' Shaurya told them. "Okay daddy! Good night mommy! We'll see you tomorrow! Love you!'' Ahana threw flying kisses at her mom and left. Ayaan kissed his mommy good night and also left. "Don't be late dad! We have a lot to do tomorrow!'' Ayaan reminded his dad before leaving the room. "They seem more excited then me.'' Said Mahek. "Yes they are! It's all their plan. They wanted this very much and I couldn't say no to them. Now try to get some sleep okay? I'll leave once you are sleeping.'' Mahek kissed him good night and closed her tired eyelids. Shaurya caressed her back until she dozed off.
Next day,doctors discharged Mahek with instructions and medication. Shaurya had hired a Full-time nurse to look after Mahek at home. He brought Mahek home that day. "Shaurya,this is not the road to my house. Are you taking me to your house?'' She Asked on the way. "Our house! I'm taking you to our house. From today you and our kids will stay with me in our house..in front of my eyes 24/7!'' He told her. "Oh!'' Mahek was really happy! Her hearts desire was to live with him in his house with their children like a perfect family. And it was happening! "I love to stay with you Shaurya but I have my clothes and other things back at my place.'' "Your friends moved your things here. You don't have to worry about anything. Awara also needed a helping hand so we hired your maid kaki.'' Shaurya told her. "Sachii?! I'm impressed Shaurya!'' She caressed his cheeks and sighed. "I'm very impatient right now to get inside the house and find out what the surprises are.'' Shaurya Parked his SUV in his driveway and turned the ignition off. "Alright! Let's go find out then!'' He smiled at her and unfastened her seatbelt. Going around the car he opened her door and helped her out. "You have decorated the house like a bride!'' Her eyes roamed the exterior of the house. "It was our kids plan!'' He told her as he scooped her up in his arms and carried her to the door. Mahek pressed the doorbell. Her heart was pounding in her chest. "I'm so nervous Shaurya..'' Shaurya just chuckled at her state. And then the door opened! Flowers rained on them from the ceiling as they stepped in the house. "Welcome home mommy daddy!'' Ayaan and Ahana rained flowers on them as well. Mahek laughed as she cleared the flowers from her face so she could see. "Welcome home babe!'' Shaurya pecked her lips and put her down. Kids hugged their parents. Shaurya picked Ahana up on his lap and Ayaan stood there holding his mommy's hand. "This is our home from today,we will all stay under one roof as a family.'' Ayaan told his mom. "Yes we will!'' Mahek was caressing his head and talking to him when she heard footsteps approaching them. She lifted her head to see and cried when she saw Karuna ma and Harish standing there with a thaal. "Karuna ma! Papa!'' She hurried to them and touched their feet. Karuna did her arti and then both blessed her. "Meri bacchi! How are you?'' Karuna hugged her and rubbed her back lovingly. "I'm good ma..how are you and papa? I missed you!'' Karuna kissed her forehead. "Now that we have seen you and our grandchildren we are doing just great. Thank you beta for giving us two beautiful grand kids.'' Tears swam in Mahek's eyes. "I'm sorry I couldn't tell you earlier about them.'' Apologized Mahek. Karuna caressed her cheek. "It's alright Mahek,everything happens for a reason..I'm happy we are all together now.'' Said Karuna. "Let's go in the hall.'' Shaurya brought them inside in the hall. Hall was packed with Shaurya's staff,friends and close families. Mahek noticed her own staff were also present there. "Babe,I would like you to meet your parents..come with me.'' Said Shaurya. "My parents?''Mahek couldn't believe her ears as she followed him. "These are your parents and my business partners Mr and Mrs Anand sharma!'' In front of her eyes stood a middle aged couple with gifts in their hands. "We have met them Mom,they are very sweet like you!'' Ayaan told his mother. "Nanu and Nani are funny too! I like them mommy!'' Added Ahana. "Mom ..dad!'' She cried out and tears ran down her cheeks. "Mahek! My daughter!'' Her parents took her in their arms and shared some emotional moment together. "We are so glad Shaurya found you Mahek.'' Said her mother while caressing her cheek. Mahek looked at Shaurya and mouthed a thank you. Shaurya nodded with a smile. The air was relaxed, the food was good and the conversation friendly. The trio sat down to talk and the rest joined them. Mahek's Mom presented her with birthday gifts which she had saved since Mahek disappeared as a baby. "Mommy is grown up girl now so I will take that Nani!'' Said Ahana. Her Nani smiled. "Of course it's all yours now.'' Ahana flashed her teeth and gathered whatever she could. Everyone were busy talking and eating. Mahek was very happy that she finally met with her parents. "If you want I can get your sisters too.'' Said Shaurya. "No! They are the reason for our separation Shaurya. I don't want any of them in our lives. I'm happy with what I have right now.'' Said Mahek. "Okay! Whatever you say! I'm happy when you are happy! Let's go now..you need your meds and a little nap before tonight's function.'' He helped her up. "Function? What function?'' She asked as he guided her towards the stairs. "That's another surprise which I can't tell you right now!'' Answered Shaurya as he opened the door to their bedroom. "Oh Shaurya! You have given me everything ..what else is left?.'' Shaurya made her sit on the bed and gave her the meds. "Something very special is left..'' he winked at her. "You are making me nervous again.'' She let out a deep breath. "Am I?'' He sat beside her and gently pecked her glossy lips. "Better?'' Mahek blushed and buried herself in his chest. Shaurya chuckled. He held her protectively and rubbed her back. "A nurse will attend to you when you press this button. And I'll be around if you need anything.'' Shaurya showed her a emergency buzzer sitting on the nightstand. "Now lie down and get some sleep.'' He tucked her in and sat beside her rubbing her hand. "I love you!'' She said softly. Shaurya kissed her fingers. "I love you too sugar plum!'' Mahek giggled. "Just don't say that in front of our kids.'' Both laughed. Shaurya sat there caressing her cheeks and kissing her fingers until she dozed off. He planted a feather like kiss on her cheek and left closing the door softly behind him.
It was six pm when Mahek woke up. She opened her eyes to find her cuties sitting on the bed dressed in nice clothes. "Hey mommy! We were waiting for you to get up and get ready.'' Said Ayaan. "Why are you two dressed up like that?'' Asked Mahek. "Because there's a fiction starting soon.'' Answered Ahana. "It's a function silly!'' Ayaan corrected his sister. "Oops!'' Giggled Ahana. "By the way how do I look mommy? Do you like my new dress? Daddy bought it for me!'' Ahana modelled on the bed. Mahek laughed at the way she was walking and showing off her dress. "It's one beautiful dress baby girl! And you look gorgeous!'' Complimented Mahek. "Like mommy right?'' She just needed to know. When Mahek nodded her head,Ahana was all happy. Mahek sat up on the bed. "Come here both of you and give mommy a hug!'' Both children sat beside their mommy and gave her side hug. "You both are my lifeline! Mwah mwah!'' Mahek kissed them both. Just then Sonal and Simran entered the room. "I hope you have rested well. Now Hurry,Freshen up and get dressed,everyone's waiting for you downstairs!'' Said Sonal. "Your honeybuns is pacing the hall,don't keep him waiting.'' Teased Simran. Children giggled. "Daddy is mommy's honeybuns.'' Ahana whispered to Ayaan. Both kids giggled hiding their faces. "Ok I'm going to shower and get ready.'' Flushed,mahek hurried towards the washroom. "Mommy just became a blushing queen I think.'' Said Ahana. Few minutes later Mahek came out all refreshed. Her eyes widened when she saw her attire spread on the bed. "Am I getting married today? That's a very beautiful bridal-wear!'' "Not today Hun,but marriage is on the cards.'' Simran told her. "Somebody Tell me something na!'' Cried Mahek. "Sorry my love! It's a surprise! Which I cannot tell you!'' Ayaan mimicked Shaurya. Mahek laughed and pulled his cheeks. "Ayaan baba I can't believe you just did that!'' Said Mahek. Ayaan fixed his collar. "I'm Shaurya khanna's son mother! I can do anything!'' Mahek laughed and ruffled his hair. "You are a sweetheart!'' She told her little boy. Sonal and Simran got busy dressing her up. In no time Mahek was looking like a bride and all ready to make her way to where the love of her life was waiting for her impatiently. "I feel like I'm getting married..seriously guys.'' Mahek touched her chest to normalize her breathing. "Dad will fulfill your wish very soon. Let's go,We will walk you down the stairs mommy.'' Said Ayaan. Both children held her hand on each side and brought her out of the room. Mahek was awed at the decoration downstairs. She slowly made her way down the stairs with her cuties by her side. The hall burst into thunderous applause. Cameras flashed. Everyone applauded and whistled as she walked down the stairs. When Shaurya saw her he was completely lost in her beauty Devine! The way she moved was sensual and seductive. She was absolutely beautiful. Her long dark hair, the color of midnight, fell in soft curls just below her slender shoulders. The closer she came, the better she looked. Beneath her thick dark eyelashes were the most beautiful,amber eyes he was longing to see, and her rosy lips were full and inviting. She stopped in front of him and gave him a heart-stopping smile. He stood there in his black tuxedo and did nothing but gaze at her adoringly as she moved closer to him. "Main agayee Shaurya..'' (I'm here) The dimple in her cheek was sexy which drove him nuts. So was her scent which was light and feminine. "Daddy! Here's your bride to be!'' Ahana interrupted and broke his trance. "Thank you princess!'' Ayaan took his sister away from them and watched as Shaurya took her hand in his. His hand was huge and warm and it completely wrapped around hers. Her eyes sparkled with laughter when he kissed her cheeks. "Happy anniversary sweetheart! Seven years ago on this very day we bumped into each other at my factory in Delhi. And then we both fell in love.'' Mahek had totally forgotten about that. "Hey Bhagwan it totally slipped out of my mind.'' She blinked back her tears. Standing up on her toes,she kissed his cheeks on both side. "Happy anniversary Shaurya...it's seven years and you still remember it?'' Shaurya pushed her hair strands behind her ears. "I remember each and every moment I spent with you babe..from the time we met till now.'' "Oh Shaurya...you gave me so much today..I cannot thank you enough!'' She threw herself in his arms and both hugged. More whistle and applaud followed. Two cuties were just clicking their pictures. "I'm not done yet babes!'' Shaurya murmured. She broke the hug. "Is there something else?'' Her jaw dropped open when he went down on his knees without wobbling while he held up the box with his right hand and opened it with his left. "Mahek Shaurya Khanna,will you do me the very great honour of becoming my wife once again? Kya Tum mujhse shaadi karogi dubara? (Will you marry me for the second time?)
Yes! Yes! Yes! I will marry you!' she said, her eyes sparkling now as brightly as the enormous diamond. I definitely will!' she was already holding out her left hand, each finger tipped with pale pink nails whose own tips each had a white crescent painted onto them, so perfectly-executed that they were like miniature works of art. She had slightly separated the fourth finger from the others to make it easy for him; in a moment, he had detached the ring from its velvet slot and slid it onto its allotted place. With a smile so beautiful, He came to his feet as she turned her hand from side to side in the approved brand-new-fiance fashion, marvelling at its lavishness. She beamed up at him and raised her arms to wrap around his neck, the ring flashing streaks of colour across the stone pillar next to them; he encircled her waist and bent to kiss her. His shaft stiffened almost immediately as their lips touched. She felt delicious in his arms, her body taut and toned from the runs she took every morning,but her softness were soft against him, pressing seductively against his chest, her lips equally soft and pillowy beneath his, parting to let his tongue slip in, kissing him back with desire and need. His hands tightened around her slim waist, pulling her closer, and she tilted her head up more and slid her hands down his back. Crowd hooted and shouted in joy and happiness. Two little cutie pies were covering their faces as their mommy daddy kissed. When Shaurya eventually raised his head, they were both breathing fast, pink-cheeked, and smiling rather goofily at each other. Shaurya dropped a kiss on her forehead and took a step back, clearing his throat. "Shall we cut the cake?'' Mahek nodded,Ayaan and Ahana joined them as Shaurya guided her to the cake table. The cake was a huge, tiered thing, painted with buttercream and decked with tiny red flowers, floating on a glass pedestal in the middle of the crowded room. Mahek stood there stunned. Shaurya inhaled deeply, smelling her natural scent. She smelled of roses. Her scent was intoxicating. Light and fresh, like a single petal held beneath the nostrils. He touched her cheek and caressed it. Her skin beneath his hand was wondrously soft. "And her body would be all velvet'' Thought Shaurya. "Cut the cake mommy daddy!'' Shouted Ahana. Shaurya came out of his dreamland and placed his hand on Mahek's hand and both cut the cake together. More claps followed. Both fed their children first and then each other. Ayaan and Ahana also fed their parents and wished them in their own style. "How was the surprises mommy? Did you like it?'' Asked Ayaan. "I loved it Ayaan baba! It was extra ordinary!'' She hugged both of them. "Thank you so much! This was best day of my life!'' Mahek told them. Her children were very happy to hear that. "You deserve all this mom! Now we'll leave you to dad while we go play.'' Hugging their parents and wishing them once again the children hopped away with a piece of cake in their hands. Shaurya neared her lady love. "You look so lovely, he said softly, his gaze grazing her body from face to feet and up again. "I'll enjoy you when you get better. So you better get well faster because I can't wait.'' Mahek turned crimson.
Later,Shaurya and Mahek sat down with their families and had dinner together. "Let's go up on the terrace and dance under the moonlight.'' Shaurya whispered to Mahek. Mahek nodded. "Ladies and gentleman! Please there's more food and drinks,enjoy yourselves. Party ends in an hour as you all know my wife just came from hospital and needs to rest.'' Announced Shaurya. Mahek bid her parents good bye and promised to keep in touch. Karuna ma And Harish also left as Harish was going out of country for business reasons. "I'll go home and get busy with the wedding prep,don't be late.'' Karuna told Shaurya. "Ji ma! We'll have to sort some things out here before we can come to London.'' Karuna blessed them and left. Giving instructions to Awara and other hired stewards,he brought Mahek to the terrace which was decorated with candlelights. "Are you ok to dance? Pain toh nai hai na?'' He asked. "You gave me so much happiness today I forgot about my surgery and the pain. I have no pain Shaurya..I'm perfectly fine to dance with you.'' She told him and took his arm, the mere tips of her fingers touching the inner side of his sleeve. "Alright then let's do it!'' He twirled her out onto the empty floor, weaving in and out of the shadows cast by the candle. They danced until they couldn't anymore. She was breathless after a couple of minutes. The music faltered and then stopped in the hall downstairs. But he danced with her a full minute longer, the music and the rhythm inside his body and hers. He could hear their breath, the sound of their shoes on the floor, in rhythm with each other, and the swish of her lahenga about her legs. When they stopped dancing, he could not think of a blessed thing to say, and it did not occur to him to let her go. He stood with one hand behind her waist, the other clasping one of hers. And he looked down at her until she lowered her head and brushed an invisible speck from the bosom of her blouse with the hand that had been resting on his shoulder. She replaced her hand and looked up at him. He captured her soft petals with his rough ones, holding her for the moment in waltz position though his hand at her waist gradually tightened and drew her against him. Her hand squeezed his almost painfully tightly. Her lips were trembling. But he released her hand in order to wrap both arms about her and deepen the kiss. She twined one arm about his shoulders and spread her other hand over the back of his head. The desire to do just that smoldered within him as he explored her mouth with his tongue, moved his hands along the curve of her spine, even for a moment cupped her buttocks in his hands and fitted her to his groin. A whimper escaped her mouth when she felt him throb on her navel. A shiver ran down her spine. She broke the kiss when she could no longer breathe. Locking her fingers together behind his neck, she rested her head against his shoulder and panted, all the while pressing kisses into his cheek and jaw.
At last he was hers to have and to hold. To love and to cherish. Tears welled in her eyes, but she did not care; it had been far too long since she'd wept tears of happiness. "I love you so much Shaurya...main kayse batau tumey..I have no words.'' She nibbled him just above his collar, and the sound that emerged from his throat was full of suppressed desire. And his body,she could feel his unsuppressed desire against her, making her giddy even as a tear escaped the corner of her eye. "Can you hold your other thing for now?'' She giggled. He laughed and pulled her closer. "I can't promise you that sugar plum.'' Flushed Mahek pulled her cheeks lovingly. "I promise I won't keep you waiting for too long.'' Shaurya kissed her forehead. "Better be not too long,my other things have the mind of its own,it will claim what rightfully belongs to him.'' Changing to the shades of pink and red,Mahek ran away from him. Just then cutie pies Ayaan and Ahana stepped on the terrace. They grabbed her hand. "Were you running from daddy?'' Asked Little Ahana. Mahek looked at Shaurya and then to their kids. "Daddy,was mommy running from you?'' Asked Ayaan. "Yes...she was actually running from me.'' Said Shaurya and bit his lips when Mahek glared at him. "Mom,you cant run from daddy you know? Not from today because you both are sleeping together in daddy's room which is now your room too!'' Ayaan told her. Shaurya gave his kids a thumps up. "Come on now let's go! You need rest too. Dad,can you carry mom to you room?'' Asked Ayaan. "Oh I love to!'' Shaurya scooped her up in his arms and followed behind their kids. "Who will save you now? 24/7 I'll be busy with you in our room.'' He whispered in her ears. "Accha? Kaam kaun karega mera padosi?'' (Really? Who will work then? My neighbour?) She asked. Shaurya laughed and carried her to their room and placed her on the bed. "Freshen up and change,I'll go put the kids to bed.'' Mahek nodded and Shaurya left. "Thank you...honeybuns!'' She hollered with a tease in her voice and giggled.
