Now that there'a a shift in cinema-viewing where most people are watching films online or wait for films to be on the internet, in the near future like perhaps in a couple of decades, it seems that film-making as a business and art will have to undergo some changes and adapt to the changing technological advancement..
How do you think cinema will change?

In terms of the budget that goes into film-making, the technology that will be used in film-making, changes in story-telling, the position of film theatres..

We've been noticing the change in cinema and film-making since BW era... what do you think will/should change in a few decades.

Well IMO
1. I think there has to be a paradigm shift even in event films. They can no longer be happy new year or race 3 types. Some sense must be there.

2. Star driven industry is about to or has already started altering. Its the zamana of story director and actor.

3. Better stories will be told. But for starters the budget must be low. the multiplex audience wants to watch a andhadhun. But masses were happier with golmaal. I think this year sanju has so far managed to capture attention of both equally. Dangal did in 2016.

4.I think cinema will grow closer to real life relatable cinema.

5.I like historic films but the vfx of some have not been very genuine looking so far. Jodha akbar had some genuine fight scenes coz they were not vfx. Now manikarnika and even padmavat had a very plastic kinda action.

6. Aur nahi pata. Nice topic. Mera aajka lecture khatam hua.:D

IMO Indians have the habit of going to movies for time-pass/outings. We get this habit from birth/childhood and it isnt going away in a hurry. If BW doesnt impress then HW will take over but cinema viewing will remain. One thing that we sorely need is more cinemas. Number of cinemas compared to population is low in India.
And yes online viewing will only increase further. There is no escaping it due to the convenience factor.

Bollywood has been evolving with time, as you can see content based films are getting applauded, young budding filmakers are bringing out new ideas and the best part is that they are working at box office too. For an exmple, andhadhun, badhai ho, hindi medium and many more. Digital medium is slowly catching up with novel concepts and slick treatment. If cinema doesn't reinvent itself in storytelling and as a visual medium it may slowly vanish and the digital space may take over.

Ya, I'm more interested in seeing the interaction between technology and film-making.
