Ever since Supreme Court announced their verdict in favour of the women attempting to enter the Sabarimala temple in Kerala, dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, which is out of bounds for women of a certain age range, the narrative has taken a different turn.

While the liberal intelligentsia is leaving no stone unturned to enter the temple premises, backed by a ruthless, rather brutal state government, the devotees of Lord Ayyappa are equally determined to not let their tyrannical methods to impose the Court's decision succeed at any cost.

Into this league stepped in actor Vivek Oberoi, who was asked to give his opinion about the Sabarimala verdict. He replied as follows:-

As reflected in the long video, Vivek Oberoi is a dedicated worker towards the cause of women empowerment, who unlike the self declared feminists, doesn't like to spread much fanfare about this. But what he said about the verdict is something that no left liberal would be able to digest easily.

Vivek Oberoi confessed that he too is a devotee of Lord Ayyappa and has visited the Sabarimala more than once in the last 16-18 years. He declared his open support for the people struggling against the arbitrary verdict on the Sabarimala, saying that he's all for women empowerment, but certain traditions must be respected as well. To quote him, In Kerala, the Red Brigade is the big boss, in Delhi, the Supreme Court is the Big Boss, but in Supreme Court, there is only one big boss, Lord Ayappa...'

The next few minutes are a clear case of how to take keyboard feminists to the cleaners without going overboard. Vivek Oberoi took a dig at these so called feminists who fought for gender equality' on this issue, saying that if these efforts were directed towards the actual issues that ailed women, India would've been a much better place to live in. He isn't far from truth, for wasn't this the same rhetoric which the keyboard feminists tried to shove down our throats in the case of Padmaavat' release?

To quote his views, ...As far as associated with the emotions in women empowerment, and women's rights, which is where this started...I truly am a believer in women empowerment, we've rescued more than 2000 girls from child prostitution etc., we've tried to empower them though education. We've given them jobs and also tried to make them economically independent...

...But when it comes to this point, my only wish is that, I wish how much energy, time and efforts these NGOs, people, even women's right organizations etc. have put into the issue whether women can enter Sabarimala or not, this type of effort needs to be put into more of how we can get our girls into schools? How do we get toilets for our girls, so that they don't have to go to excrete in open air? How do we protect them from rape? How do we give them strong rights so that they can protect themselves both physically and mentally? I wish that was the focus...'

Vivek Oberoi even criticized the hypocrisy that is currently being exercised in defending the ultra feminists who are trying to defame the people protesting against Sabarimala verdict by Supreme Court. He pointed out that there are several temples in India, where only women are allowed, for e.g. the Melmaru or Bhagati Maa Temple at Kanyakumari, where only women are allowed. He asked the reporters if that would determine to discrimination as well?

Vivek Oberoi also pointed out that the issue is being wrongly projected as anti women to the world, thanks to the left liberal narrative. Trust the left liberals to take this roast lying down if they can. On a serious note, we must appreciate Vivek for not toeing the line of the left liberals and the keyboard feminists and standing unequivocally with the Sabarimala devotees. May the devotion to Lord Ayyappa succeed against all odds.

I like what he said.
Girls going to school /to work/foeticide is a much bigger issue than going to a temple.

My take

There is no such a thing as liberal or left .. i see decent moderate human beings believing what's normal and right.. the ppl who created the term are racists.. fundamentalists who hide behind religion.

They have failed to adopt and move on and accept other ppl around them!! They are the reason that we human beings as a civilization are a century behind in science and technology.. they are the reason that one day this planet will be destroyed because they don't believe in science and global warming!!!

Yeah those so called decent human beings speak for specific religion and agendas. They have selective criteria where to speak or not. I don't wanna get in debate. But calling others racist just because they don't match your ideology! Typical of liberals to get abusive if someone doesn't agree with them and aren't on same wavelength

Courts should not interfere with religion/religious beliefs unless these are hurting others...
So if tomorrow someone demands that people should be allowed to wear shoes in a temple...because its unhygienic...what will their verdict be? Will they let shoes be allowed in the temple?

This is the biggest non-issue I have come across in the recent times. So much uproar over nothing. This has nothing to do with feminism. Why are people so stupid? Aisi unnecessary cheezo ko feminism bolke they are pushing aside actual issues that really matter. Also little girls and women over 50 are allowed entry in the temple.

This rule is associated to a belief about Lord Ayyappa being a brahmachari. Also, there is a Sabarimala only for women near the main shrine, where men are not allowed entry. Why not just go there? Except this one temple all others allow women to enter the premises.

But then I anyways do not see the difference between praying at home and going to the temple. Isn't god supposed to be omnipresent? Its all right, it is just a temple. Why create so much unrest over this. If you think your existence is incomplete without visiting this shrine, then wait till you turn 50.

Saddest part is, the women who are fighting to enter the premises are non-believers who want to go there just to be in news and be named as the one who brought a change.

Another thing, the Sabarmala is under the care of the King of Kochi (or his descendents) and the devaswam board. They have put out a circular saying if any woman of non-permissible age enters, they will lock up the temple. They reserve the right to shut it down apparently. It is sad that people who have gone through the rigorous fast might be denied entry thanks to the ego of a few.

Now next they will try to enter the Parsi temples? Because non-Parsis are not allowed inside the temple?

I am glad that Women are being allowed in Sabarimala temple.
Yes women education and other issues is important. But this is also important. This is not a this OR that situation. this is a this AND that situation.

Imagine you pray to some god and want to go in and you are not allowed. How is that fair? Won't we lose faith in that god. For me moment I found out that the temple were not allowing women, I was like then hell with it. Who even wants to go into a temple where they dont allow 50% of the population!

This is my view --> We are all created equally by god. we deserve to pray in any temple or follow any practice as long as we do not hurt any life or being.

A religion has to be equal to all those who are following it or else it holds no meaning.
