The above statement was for the viewers and not contestants. He clearly told viewers that if they can be heard about changing hosts , then change him. He is also not interested.
It also meant he is not going to change his way of hosting.
Looks like his pent up frustration of so many seasons of being blamed of being biased and demand to change hosts came out in today's episode.
