It would be completely different story, if Kunal-Mauli slept some time & that wasn't shown in the episode. But that would mean Kunal slept with Mauli, while he was with Nandini too, which would be ultimate assassination of his character.

Yes, but no contraceptive is 100% effective. Some are more effective than others, yes, but none are perfectly effective. One stops using contraceptives when they decide to try, but that doesn't mean that's the only time to conceive. It's also true that it doesn't often happen that conception happens at the first attempt without using some form of protection, but these cinematic liberties are taken all the time. I very much doubt the CVs have given any kind of thought to how and when and why things happen, they probably only have a 1 page story with a beginning and an end and they're filling the gaps on a daily bases as they see fit. So many things (characters) in this show don't make sense, this (Mouli being pregnant) is the one thing that I actually think is not outside the realm of possibility.

It's highly unlikely that Mauli lost to keep track of her periods date. I mean even when women's cycle is delayed due to stress, that itself is enough to raise a ringing bell, especially for those who are attentive of their bodies, which most doctors are. Period delayed by a week can cause enough anxiety to anyone, even to PCOS patients. Though it would be a different story if Mauli had an irregular cycle always. (which itself isn't ignored by many as a symptom of some other grave issue).

But, then makers have got to ridicule everything, so we'll have to see them ridiculing pregnancy too & that too by none other than a top-most gynec surgeon of the city.

Yes but she did a medical procedure to remove the contraceptive. Wouldn't the doctor who did the procedure know if she was pregnant at that time. I mean this is the basic check up that every doctor has to do before doing on any procedure and they have not done anything before or after that..

This even crosses the limit of cinematic liberty. Janmastami to dussera is almost 2 month of time and it was before Janmastami that she did the procedure

How can Mauli be pregnant!! She had her surgery when Kunal was already attracted to Nandini... She and Kunal never had this kind of relation after the surgery. Kunal was always avoiding Mauli. Then its impossible for her to be pregnant. I always thought Nandini will get pregnant.

Yes, no contraceptive is 100% effective. But Mauli went through iucd removal and that would have led to complication if she was already pregnant.

Also, being a obstetrician herself, it doesn't make sense that she won't know.

And iucd involving pregnancies are not normal either they r ectopic or won't sustain because of all the inflammation in the uterus. Even after removal it takes time to conceive.

Indian tv has always made a joke about everything related to science.

I remember in kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi, the character nandini got pregnant due to a rape done by her husband ansh after he had died. The time span between rape and preg revelation was more then 6 months. Even if she would not notice by then the belly starts showing and the baby even moves. But they showed it being a normal first trimester
