Even insane person wud know that Mauli is not gonna appreciate! Why doesn't kunal tell her that Mauli won't appreciate.. Throwing Bday party as if nothing happened? As if she is not the cause!
And whn Mauli will react, she will start flooding n say hum toh sirf Mauli ki khushi chahte the... cry more n kunnu pacifying her..

if they actually wanted to whitewash her..they would just make her stay away from mauli and be deeply regretful (which is what a normal person would do..)
