From a neutral perspective, and someone who watches "English shows who has an open mind and morals. I see comparisons to a show I'm watching which a hospital-based show. The guy is in his late 40s, who's a father to adult children and is a CEO (C). He fell in love with a girl in her late 20s (Z), who is the same age as his daughter (a triplet). They got pregnant and discovered their unborn baby had down syndrome along with other health issues. Z wanted to keep the baby despite C's efforts as he thought she will struggle to look after a disabled child due to her age. On the hand, C's son (F) was married, however, once he lost his job as a surgeon he got violent towards his wife (E) (Similar to Rajdeep). They both split once E took a stand for herself with the help of her friends and family. F repented what he did to his wife and helped Z. He developed a soft corner for her by supporting Z in her decisions about his half-sibling and once C found out he kicked them both out of his house (similar to Mauli). Later on, Z didn't find a shelter for the night and a serial rapist attacked her where she lost the baby. That's when F + Z confessed their love and she relied on him for emotional support after the attack. (that track is still going on but here's a summary).
This scenario reminded me of SBKR were the event were similar and I could able to cross net the two shows. Kunal and Mauli were married like C + Z. C was in love with Z, just like Kunal was with Mauli. Once, Nandini entered the picture (when F broke up with E) that's when everything went pear shape. Kunal helped Nandini as Mauli was busy (F helped Z as C was running a hospital) and with the time they spent, they became closer than friends. However, in the English show, both knew they were falling in love and avoided each other (similar to SBKR) and always thought about C. While, in Kunal and Nandini's mind, Mauli never appeared (selfish). Kunal and Nandini started their affair without thinking about the world and the only person who thought about Mauli was Rajdeep (even though it was out for revenge, he considered her feelings).
There is no justification for Kunal and Nandini's affair or F + Z. But, in the real world, people fall out of love after their marriage. Once a third person enters, whether it's a mother-in-law, best friend or any outsiders that aren't in the relationship. To be very honest, I never knew they could prosecute people if they have affairs in India. I found it interesting because people cheat every day whether it's physical or emotional (talking to women or men online aka sexting). However, they have been showing EMA for years and people don't backlash (maybe because they didn't have sex as Kunal + Nandini did).
In my opinion, nothing was wrong with Kunal falling for Nandini (he probably felt sorry for her). But, what was the final killer blow was when they both ended up shagging. If they both wanted a relationship together, Kunal should like a proper man asked Mauli for a divorce, I know it would have destroyed Mauli. However, it's better finding out later and blaming yourself for your best friend and husband for cheating on you. In that case, Mauli's trust, self-esteem, and confidence would have never be harmed because she knew about the relationship beforehand.
I have no idea where the show is heading due to the legislation, however, I believe Kunal doesn't deserve Mauli and he wants to keep both women haha.
At the end of the day, if you fall in love with someone else, be a respectful person and end the relationship before jumping into a new one. Personally, I've seen the damages it causes once a person cheats and its soul destroying seeing the person trying to regain the trust back.
Also, I feel like Rajdeep will end up with Mauli and Kunal with Nandini. Only because when the divorce happened Rajdeep's last words were "love" meaning he will come back and take Mauli from Kunal where he will shower love on her.😕
