Will Sanju be 2018's highest grosser?

Race 3 is already out of race. Thugs Of Hindostan is looking crap. The trailer has got mixed response, with negative reviews having a little bit more weightage. Victor being the director doesn't help either. I know Aamir is there, but even he isn't able to do much if the director is bad. You can see that from his track record.

Dhoom 3 was saved because of franchise value. This time there is no brand. Thugs Of Hindostan completely depends on it's content and Aamir's star power. Also the movie is releasing on Diwali, which is not a very lucrative holiday compared to Eid or Christmas. No movie released on Diwali has ever crossed 300 crores. The highest grosser on Diwali is Golmaal Again, which collected only 205 Crores.

There is also no one month free run, which Aamir always gets during Christmas, and has a huge role in making his movies ATHG.

SRK ka to waise bhi time kharab chal raha hai. His movies always look good on paper but turn out to be disappointing. Zero is looking like a mess. The teasers were crap and embarrasing. After one week, it'll also face competition from Simmba, so very less chances of it becoming the highest grosser.

So with the Khans gone, Can Sanju become the surprise highest grosser of 2018? Ranbir can get his first HGOTY. This can be another year after Bahubali 2, in which a Non-Khan film become the highest grosser.

No. TOH will be. It will easily beat Dangal. I wish it crosses Bahubali 2 also.

well i hope sanju remains HGOTY. But TOH crap or not might be a huge cinematic experience. Even race 3 was crap. But it still crossed 100 cr in first weekend. if craze is high smilar can happen with TOH.

if it catches fancy of people...beimg a little less braindead than dhoom3...then it can do more than sanju.:(((

I dont think toh will cross dangal though. 2.0 and diwali will eat up its collections.

and zero i would say is not in the race.

TOH has like 3 full free weeks and a huge holiday. What more does it need? It's a trashy masala movie which the audience watches no matter how good or bad.

Why give all the credit to Aamir? There's a reason why he went and got Katrina to shake her assets. Otherwise you end up with low openings like Secret Superstar where he was spreading fake PR about donating screens to others out of the goodness of his heart. 😆

lol...yeah pretty much evident when they accepted trash like HNY...Diwali pooja day is the worst day for a movie release and that too in a cameo...the guy has record openers without the presence of any A list actress...Why did Kat agree for such role with less screen time in the first place?

Unless something is drastically wrong with the plot, the movie will at a minimum do a crore more than Sanju - because the team and industry will work promote it overtime, fudge collections to make it HGOTY! 😳
