thats a very typical hindi serial heroine's family:

spineless father (in this case forgetfull too)

nagging stepmom

a sister who loves you a lot but not more than her "2 din purane boyfriend".

& usually more than 50% of the family disappears from the show after girls marriage & usually appear whenever the girl needs a remainder that "after marriage husband's house is yours & you cannot come back".
