Acclaimed filmmaker Kalpana Lajmi,
renowned for films like Rudaali' (1993)
has passed away at the age of 61.
Lajmi, who had been suffering from
kidney cancer since 2015, breathed her
last this morning in Mumbai.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda
Sonowal said on Twitter, "Saddened to
learn about the demise of veteran
filmmaker #KalpanaLajmi ji. Her
contribution to Indian cinema will be
remembered forever.
She will be cremated in Mumbai's
Oshiwara around midday today.
