I think Akash left because he was not happy with what they did to his character or with the current state the script. At least that's what I infer from his Instagram posts. 

Valkyria70, someone on the Russian forum asked if Hephaestion has had plastic surgery! 😆

Based on one of Akash's recent comments on Instagram I think he's going to be back with a new project soon. Can't wait!

So I found this article about why Akash left the show. No clue if the source is reliable but lately he's been posting videos of his work with youth leaders so it kinda makes sense.
