Episode 1 :

Introduction of partha Galli. The top view is fantastic. We see a knife being moved from here to

there as if someone is going for a kill and then we see a girl cutting a pumpkin. Mehek is revealed

with star in her eyes tasting her food. She is cutting onions, carrots etc and all the while is singing a

lullaby. Puts chewing gum in her mouth to avoid tears while cutting onion. She is cooking poha and

few more dishes, may be vegetable rice too in the cooker. Everyone at Sharma Niwas an looks like

Mehek Madam is cooking in the wee hours. Mehek's cooker whistle acts like a rooster in waking up

the house hold. Nehal gets irritated and closes her ears with th epillow.Bread toast, partaha and

many more dishes are ready. Then she prepares honey, lemon water for her PD who is awake and

flirting with Dileep Kumarji and greeting her late husband. Mehek wishes "Good morning PD" and

PD wishes her back. PD asks her why she is awake and turning her nights dark when everyone

can feed their stomach. Mehek tells that she is not doing so but is just killing her time. Chachas go

to their shops and chachis look after the house chores and she can atleast do kitchen work. PD

tells her it's me who has to do this preaching and not Mehek's and asks Mehek to talk as per her

age. Look at you, you have darks circles beneath your eyes, go and sleep. Mehek goes from there

to her room, switches her light off and sleeps.

In the morning, Sharmas are at dining table. Ravi Chachu is brushing his teeth and yelling at Mohit

who is in the bathroom to come out fast.Asks Mohit to take some medicine for constipation everyday before sleeping. Mohit yells back he'll do it from tomorrow.

Kanta chachi is setting the table and sneezes. Jeeven chachi who's reading newspaper there asks

her is she took medicine. KC complains that entire household is smelling of paint and these two

three tablets will not work. Mohit comes out and RC rushes in. Mohit naughtily says there is no

water inside. RC comes out and says couldn't he have told him earlier and takes a bucket of water

inside bathroom. JC tells KC to go for jogging along with Manasi and Nehal daily and she responds

saying this is such a big house an her exercise happens everyday moving here and their with her

daily chores.

Dadaji is cheking his BP time and again, PD taunts him saying he knows hos BP is normal and why

is he checking it so many times, BP will increase or what. Dadaji comes to JC tells him that he's

worried that his Doc has educe his medicine and what if his BP suddenly increases, what he has

heart attack and then JC will be an orphan. PD comes there and tells him that he needs medicine for his brain and not BP meaning he has gone mad.

Manasi Chachi and Nehal come back from jogging and Manasi chachi complains about Nehal's

reverse way jogging. KC questions Nehal why does she jog ulta. Nehel says it's for her Glutes. KC

doesn't understand and PD shows her what are glutes. Everyone is shocked.

Dadaji is sitting on the dining table but is not eating anything. KC comes there and tells him that

she has prepared and serves him. PD stares at him. Mohit comes there and JC asks him to come

to the shop and PD tells him not to keep the newspaper on the dining table. Mohit asks for his Custard. Mehek comes there and gives Mohit his custard, tells him she had prepared it for him early in the morning and kpt in the fridge. JC taunts this looks less like a house and more like a farmayishi geet maala and taunts Mohit. KC tells JC should question Mehek not Mohit as she is the one who gets up early hours and prepares everyone's fav. dishes. PD tells KC and others it gives happiness to serve others and not by just taking from others always. Mehek is about to eat bread

and KC takes it away and tells Nehal to take Mehek with her for jogging so that her weight can be

reduced.

KC gets a phone call and she speaks to Pammi. Tells the family that Pammi is coming with her

husband and her son Ajay to see Mehek in the evening at 7 om for dinner. ALl the males try to

reason out and ask KV if they can push it to tomorrow. KC asks why but no one gives correct reply.

PD tells KC that there is cricket match between India and Srilanka. KC warns them to be at home

by 6 pm after closing their shops and even Mehek to be back by 5 pm and that this rishta has to be

fixed today. Orders Nehal to call beauty parlour wale and get Mehek ready so that her dark circles are not visible.

RC receives Pammi's family who have reached PG in their car. Asks them to park it and walk in the

galli as their cannot get insie the PG. KC comes and sees that JC is not ready. Shouts at him to get

ready but RC tells KC that they are cooming to see Mehek and not him and his pyjama. Nehal is

getting ready and Manasi chachi comes there and asks her to eat talcum powder, perfume, cream

etc etc so that she'll look beautiful. Nehal proudly says she'll not go through all this and hers will be

Swayamwar. The groom will come on TV and telecast like a reality show.

RC is boasting about their Sharma Niwas calling it a Mahal. Pammi's family is welcomed by KC

who hugs Pammi and tries to hug her hubby too in her anxiety. Ravi chachu clears his throat and

stops her from hugging him. They come and meet PD and see DK's photo and are confused. Ask PD if Dileep Kumarji is their relative. Dadaji clarifies that PD is DK ji's big fan and thet used to stay in same lane in Rawalpindi.

Pammi asks Ajay to bring out his chain so that it's showing and thay all look around the house

trying to measuring it up. KC tells yes it's an old house but it is their own. KC comes to get Mehek

and is stunned looking at Mehek looking pretty and just like her mother. hHe is left teary eyed and

hugs Mehek. Tells Mehek she has kept the tray ready and asks her to bring it. Nehal brings the tray

and Ajay stares at her non stop and has lovey dovey feeling. PD sees this and tells him that it's

wrong number and she is Mehek's younger sister. Nehal asks Ajay how he's is in a very intimate

way.

Mehek comes there with hr chachis and is introduced by KC to Pammi and family. Ajay compares

both sisters. Mehek greets Pammi and family Manasi chachi asks Mehek to show Ajay their Roof

and have breakfast there and questions Nehal why did she bring the tray. Nehal feigns innocence

and says she was just helping.

Mehek and reach reach the open area and Ajay is having tea. Ajay asks Mehek since how many

years she is working at Taj. Mehek tells since two years. Ajay gives her a pendant to Mehek says

no. Ajay tells her that it's of 24 carat and his dad got it in customs ride. Questions Mehek if she

knows senior management. Mehek is confused and tells what senior management, Ratan Chacha manages everything. Ajay asks is she calls him Ratan Chacha and if her Ratan Tata chacha can

give him a job. He has done MBA and if husband and wife work in same place, it's beneficial.

Mehek tells she will speak to Ratan Chacha and even tell JC to talk to him. PD used to tell her that they two used to share lungis when they were young. Tells him she calls him Ratan Chacha since

her childhood when Ajay is surprised at her calling him Ratan chacha. Questions him what work

he'll do in their small hotel, Ajay cuts her and says, no it's a very big star hotel. Mehek clarifies it's

not Taj hotel but a small dhaba of Ratan chacha in which she works. Ajay gets irritated and tells her

that her KC told his mother that Mehek works in Taj hotel asks her if she has plan to work in a

star hotel.What her her future plans. Mehek innocently tells who has seen the future and yes she had applied for a 5 star hotel but did not get it.

Ajay questions if she sees TV serials and tells her that the heroines dream of becoming IAS, IPS

and cricketers. Mehek replies everybody's dream is different and tells she likes cooking and eating

and that's her passion and hobby which she has learnt from her mother. Ajay says even his mother

cooks, so what if he has to get married to a girl who is like his mother. He wants a working girl who

is career oriented and ambitious and not some homely girl who cuts onion and pours out her tears

in kitchen. Mehek tells him if they chew bubble gum while cutting onion there will not be tears. Ajay

is super irritated, takes the pendant and goes away.

Sharmas & their presence starts to seep through the audience mind in the first episode itself, the characters are well etched & strong with a chronological order in hierarchy intact, especially women characters, PD Kanta & of course Mehak 😃

What I liked in .first episode was the simple and Realistic frame they gave to this episode . Like chachu and Mohit fighting over bathroom , dadu ka cribbing , kanta chachi complainiiinig about how she has to do all work. And Mohit and meheks bond . But my favorite was mehek genuine innocence. And love for everyone in house. Without any expectations and. Always happy to feel nature . She was simple Indian girl but with a unique and beautiful way to see world through eyes . She was sweet and still strong . She was simple and still captivating. She was ordinary with special heart winning traits.
