Anya I completely agree with your words.
Nani feels a woman's purpose is to be married, dress up, maintain the relations, and participate in celebrations. I think there is so much more to life than that. In their family a woman's identity revolves around her being married. Forget education or thinking something for your own life outside of marriage. That doesn't happen in this family.
Imagine being Naira and waking up every morning with absolutely nothing to do everyday accept solve other peoples problems, dressing up with heavy jewelry and clothes because at least once a week there is some festival or celebration. One problem of the day is to figure out should we make kachori's or mithai or figure out what we have to wear for the next function. No having friends outside the family or socializing with others. Family is the beginning and the end of everything.
Naira has no individuality. Her whole aim in life is to be Karthik's wife only. Money grows on trees so her only problem is to figure out how to spend it so she gets those absurd earrings and huge maang tikkas. There is no aim or purpose in life.
Karthik doesn't have anything to do either. He like a monkey is climbing in through the window and both are romancing in front of everyone while everyone is blind not aware of what they are doing in front of them. He doesn't seem to work. Only has time for day dreaming and romance. That fills up his day. I mean half their life is spent in day dreaming.
I have to keep reminding myself to throw logic out the window because there isn't any. Model couple means be a doormat for your husband and dress up and say sorry for everything.
They divorced fine now lets move forward. Please writers show things sensibly and give us a quality story that is up to the mark. Show Naira/Karthik as sensible people approaching life with some seriousness and handling their issues logically.
