Also, I was puzzled why did he keep his hands over her shoulders but now I remembered he did that to Olympias as well and it's his way of assuring his loved ones that they shouldn't worry and that he would be back soon! You are right! When he held her hands in that emotional scene and when he rested his hands on her shoulders while bidding her a good bye, she seemed to be wary of the physical contact and that shows that there is still some kind of boundation for her to let their relationship develop.

As you expect, if there is something really left to happen to her while she is alone, then what I believe is that, it will definitely improve their relationship even further! If the CVs really want to show us something on that front, there is still some scope left!

May I know on which episode (preferably the date) the sequence being discussed, aired ?

Episode 196 - 27 Aug 2018
About 2 mins 15 seconds into the episode

It only lasted about a minute or so, but the impact was beautiful

I am officially tired of Rohit's acting calibre ! How can he meddle so well in one single expression, some tenderness, while letting reflect in his expression, gestures and tact, the stoical and military sharpness. Look at the last look he gave her before riding off ! A glimpse of contentment to see their relationship finally taking the path of progress as he wished it would yet he still remains unfazed by these tiny matters of sensibility and heart that resurfaced at last minute, because his first and foremost target remains the War and to get his mother back safe and sound from the enemies hostage. He's absolutely exquisite ! What a fit male protagonist would he make (excluding the physical discrimination) if he were ever casted in one of the Chinese series, beginning 2000's, depicting the subtlety of love and it's feelings, and as the love interest of two female leads, in a tragic love triangle, adapted mostly from austere novels with sad ending, from the beginning of 19th century. That would be a HIT ! The layers, the prose, the dialogue delivery, the tone and the facial expressions. Sad that we can't always have what we want :(

Yes, that parting scene was exquisite indeed. It might seem like a regular pre-war farewell to most viewers, but the nuances are there alright. Only someone like Rohit could have inserted those layers for a scene that was barely a minute long, but communicated so many things about the state of Alexander's heart, mind, and world at that moment. As you rightly pointed out, all this while maintaining the military commander air about him and the steely resolve to rescue his mother no matter what the cost. Alexander's ability to compartmentalize is remarkable! This scene was truly a gem!

As for foreign series, I want to see him in one of those Turkish dramas, historical or contemporary. A lot of them have beautiful storytelling with top-notch acting and I can just imagine Rohit would be perfectly at home there!.
