Karan Patel is one the leading names in the Indian television industry. He is currently seen as Raman Kumar Bhalla in Ekta Kapoor's long-running show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein alongside Divyanka Tripathi. However, after ruling the TRP charts for five years, the show is finally preparing to go off-air this year in October. PeepingMoon.com has learned that the final episodes will be shot in the USA.

Post the show wraps up, the leading lady of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Divyanka, will be joining a web-series which will be produced by Ekta Kapoor for her digital platform, ALTBalaji. Though, Karan has not revealed any further professional commitments. Considering that the actor will be available post-October, he was approached to be a part of the controversial reality show Bigg Boss' season 12. However, when PeepingMoon.com asked Karan about his plans, he denied the offer saying that the show is "not his cup of tea!

Karan has confessed of being an admirer of the show's host Salman Khan. However, he has also mentioned that staying away from his family and work is hard for him. Last year in Bigg Boss season 11, on popular demand Karan entered the Bigg Boss house for a weekend special episode known as "Weekend Ka Vaar. He was a part of the panel that stayed in the house to analyze contestants.

Has there been any official news about YHM going off air?

I'm happy that Karan has kept his word. I would never want to see him in that filthy show. He deserves better.

The ratings have stabilised now and I am certain that the channel won't pull the plug so soon. Though, it's alarming that my beloved Mohabbatein isn't even in the top 10 shows. I'm hopeful we'll clench back soon.
