Sonu Sood talks about why he walked out of Manikarnika.

After the exit of the director, Kangana
Ranaut was quick to take up the task of
completing Manikarnika. But as the actress
turned director for the film, co-actor Sonu
Sood seems to have been unhappy with the
transition. Issuing a statement on the same,
Kangana Ranaut said, "He refused to meet
me. He vehemently refused to work under a
woman director, which is kind of amusing
because Sonu is a dear friend and I have
even launched the music of a film that he
produced at his request. Even though the
team suggested that they have full faith in
me, it seems, Sonu had neither dates nor
faith.
With a strong statement like this against the
actor, Sonu Sood finally retorted to
Kangana's statement, saying, "The gender
of the director is not the issue. Competence
is. Let's not confuse the two. I've worked
with Farah Khan who's a competent
woman director and Farah and I had a
great professional equation and we are still
best of friends. That's all I would like to say."
With this tug of war of words on between
the two actors, this big period film is sure
to bear the brunt.

I dont think he left because director is female lol. A guy who acted in telugu films that were centered around female characters would never do that
