Stree had a decent opening of around 25% due to the feel of a horror comedy though the film is probably more of a comedy. Shraddha Kapoor has been had a bad run of late but is more popular then the way her last few films have gone and is definitely a positive for a film of this range.
The film should come out with a healthy first day and should be able to go from there over the weekend with the crunch coming on Monday. The film had a decent first trailer though being of the horror- comedy genre, the most scariest thing was in the credits when it came to notice that the producers of this film are are the directors of mega disasters like Raabta and Gentleman but the audience does not really notice these things and goes by the trailer.
Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se has taken a poor 10-15% opening. The first film in the franchise was a major hit while the second one did not do well and it looks like the third one has been made due to huge satellite deal of 27 crore which helps puts the makers into the black. The price may be justified as the first one was big on satellite and the second one was decent as well but with the film being repetitive of the first two the theatrical business will be an uphill task.
The opening show admits for both films are as follows. All figures are like for like.
