Hi Shruthi! A very well written post! I love your title for it! I loved how the writers highlighted the importance of humanity over religion. And I really liked how Aditya & Zoya said essentially the same thing but in different ways in the ep.
The last few minutes of the episode were amazing. I loved the contrast that they showed. Zoya asking for Arshad was while she was still somewhat calm but when Aditya got hit with a brick she was borderline hysterical. There was an immediate shift which was very obvious. The only reason she was asking about Arshad was cuz she felt guilty. She thought he was in danger cuz he came to drop her.
It's quite interesting to note Zoya's behaviour throughout the riots. She was obviously scared right from the start, but she was reassuring the kids that everything will be alright. Then later she was reassuring the adults too, and when the goons came she stood right in front of everyone full of determination. However when Aditya shows up and she sees his hand bleeding, you can see the anguish on her face. But she manages to pull herself together to motivate the civilians to fight against the goons. And when she gets a moment with Aditya the fear surfaces as she feels with Aditya there, she can allow her emotions to flow. But when she sees Aditya get hit, you see the fear grow into terror and when he's losing consciousness the panic and hysteria set in. Zoya was put right in the middle of riots yet managed to maintain her composure for everyone around her, it was only when Aditya fainted that she completely lost it. It's very telling. And even in the precap it is due to her sheer determination to get Aditya to safety that she pushes down all of her other emotions.
