Yahan ek climax dhang se dekhne ko nahin mil raha hai aur aapko lagta hai SidT 2 climaxes shoot karenge? 🤣
You're right, Indonesians are not new to Indian serials and they are quite familiar with Swastik because of Mahabharat and Mahakaali. SidT is going to make tons of money with this show!
I think audiences overseas would be curious about Porus but once they see Alexander it will have a much greater impact. They may like Porus as the hero but will not necessarily be as affected by his patriotism the same way as Indian viewers would.
As you said, non-Indian audiences already know about Alexander The Great or Sikander/Iskander and they will be supporting him, just like many Indian viewers are too. Plus, after they see Rohit and Sameksha's performances, I expect the majority are going to be completely on the Macedonian side. SidT failed to make us hate him and it won't work with foreign audiences either. Lots of viewers also like to see a ruthless warrior and if they are GoT fans then they would love it even more. 😆
One more thing. In countries like Indonesia and even parts of India, people also know Alexander as Dhulqernain, which means The two-horned one. Also the name Sikandar or Iskandar is very popular in many parts of the world and as well as in India. For example, superstar Mammootty named his son Dulquer after Alexander The Great, and Anupam Kher named his son Sikandar. These are modern-day families so you can imagine how strong Alexander's influence still is in people's lives. Alexander/Alexandre/Alejandro (and all its variants) is one of the most popular in Europe even today etc.
Alexander's name is equated with invincibility in battle, so they are going to expect him to win. As Aunty had also pointed out a while ago, in Sri Lanka this show is titled Digvijay, which refers to Alexnader's name and fame as a world conqueror. So the audience there will expect him to win too.
The thing is, viewers like to watch historical shows for the grand scale and if it's about Alexander they will expect lots of intrigue and action sequences. We know how awesome Alexander's battles have been so far. In fact, just the entry scene was fabulous. Most importantly, talent shines through and Rohit's and Sameksha's will get recognized very soon even if they do not get much screen time. I suspect it will be more evened out in foreign telecasts as the PH cuts some of the slower scenes so the Macedonian tracks will get 30 or 40% screen time instead of 20% (or none sometimes). If they've already shown Alexander's entry in episode 3 what does that say?
I hope they also like Sunny Ghanshani's work - he was great as Philip and looked the part 100%, especially considering this was his first TV show! I miss him!
I believe Aditya Redij is going to gain lots of fans too. He is very handsome and plays Bamni really well.
