I think it's better to donate money to the Kerala govt directly. Donating items can be done by people in the nearby areas only so I dont know about buying these baskets from NGOs. Like how will they transport them there to the people who need it? They dont have the infrastructure.
I donated meals through zomato. After order confirmation it said Akshay Patra foundation will deliver the meals through boats and meal delivery vans.
Someone I read delivered 15K Sanitary napkins through one of the NGOs.
They definitely have the means.
