Trust, Respect, Communication are VITAL and also have to be MUTUAL for sustaining long lasting relationships..that's what real life keeps teaching people. Mind you, actions and words should also agree with each other.. but oops these are repeated failures of doomed fictional couple Abhi & Pragya in KKB.

Read this IT article below..Can we disagree how TOXIC Indian marital relationships are getting repeatedly portrayed not just to Indian but global audiences under the MASK of jodis chemistry, branded top shows name and actors popularity on hindi tv shows? 😳

Frankly when compared to other shows mentioned in the article, Kumkumbhagya is WORST married couple portrayal onscreen 👎🏼 NOT a single 24 hrs HAPPINESS of TRUTHFUL committed marital life got shown for main leads in 1100+ episodes & 4+ yrs telecast, simply both are deemed UNFIT for a marriage.😒

Leave aside marital relationships, what's actually happening with Hindi TV?🤔 Head injury / drugs makes one of the leads suffer MEMORY LOSS where SPOUSE is forgotten, some look a alike / twin as illiterate VILLAGE person easily replaces a dead educated lead (be it fake or real) & ofcourse REPEATED weddings with bride/groom swaps and crappy REINCARNATION tracks have become common. In addition a bahu / biwi always has to be bashed & THROWN OUT in current age blaming her for death/injury/insult of some male leads family member..😒

Then there are OVER DOSAGES of obsessed one sided lovers turned into psycho killers ready to massacre anybody?😈 Same cringed concepts be it on any hindi GEC also abusing children, women, elders & focussing on kidnaps, bomb blasts, murders, attacks repeatedly on prime time. Be it Romantic, Family, Thriller, Social drama or Romcom, why should every other fiction genre be converted into crime series on hindi TV?

Read this BL article below...will hindi TV viewers ever get freedom from some of these over used plots? 😕

And when it comes to KKB it was a record breaking 16 months of REAL pregnancy crime drama with FAKE paternity blames unlike other shows...🤪

@LA2725, the above should not be happening but is happening, there seems to be no way to get to the producers or the creative team, trps and income only seems to count, even today heard that KKB is ranked third. Only the trps can make them react but even that seems to be betraying us.

There is no rule that Abhigya should be separated to keep the story moving ahead, why not show them united and see, if there is drop in the trps they can separate them again, but they are not even trying, they are like crazy, they start panicking when they reach the end of the separation track cause they need to be separated again. We fans can have a say in it, that is what a friend of mine in the media was telling, we have every right to condemn any atrocities or bullshits in the serials, but we fans should be united in doing this.

Ekta's attention should be drawn to this issue, but I do not know how, she seems immune,

Its about time we realise the target audience of Ekta's shows.. If you want more realistic and contemporary shows ALT Balaji is the place.. Daily soaps are running with these formulas and will do so till audience reject them.. but viewers seem to be really lapping up this post leap content with ratings increasing every week..

And @LA while it is a personal choice which needs no comment from me, instead of cribbing and complaining about this show and the character's graph and treatment, you can as well start watching shows which have more contemporary characters and story..

As much as regressive content needs criticism, better content needs applause also..may be you can spend your efforts appreciating better shows..

Best way to to free hindi soaps from this crap is to stop watching these shows. If there's no market for this cheap content, then they won't make them. Content is too vulgar and demeaning of women. It's shocking that viewers keep saying "that's how all serials are" as if that's ok.

I find Hindi soaps are very regressive and too traditional for my liking especially when it comes to female characters. I watched some episodes of south Indian shows where female leads where so strong and handled themselves as a dutiful wife and punished the villains.

Prani, content makers understanding of Indian market itself needs a change... compare the content on Netflix made exclusively for Indian audience and the general content available there.. while quality is much better, still the Indian content is so cliched and let down compared to international content..the genres and characters explored is so different, when Indian society has to be the more diverse one and should be offering scope for better stories..

Why assume some viewers like me don't watch / follow other TV soaps? yes they may not invest much time & energy like long running KKB or may not have same sort of attachment, also may be due to lessons learnt from soaps like KKB..😊

Need to mention here, some writers & producers are also making reasonable attempts in recent times and are packaging different and interesting concepts in a commercially viable manner on hindi fiction TV and been successful as well, and no they don't promote regressive plot lines or demean their female leads regularly or make male leads always dumb or glorify crimes for attracting more eye balls. This indicates Indian viewers need not always have to shift focus to web series from TV..

I have mentioned this earlier also, within 2018 hindi TV soap launches be it concept, emotional connect, characterizations, content, pace of story movement, ensemble cast, twists and turns ISA on Zee & Kulfi on SP been far better than most long running / newly launched daily soaps.. these soaps mostly been receiving positive feedback from audiences and also keep registering good rise on TRP charts..😃 Roop on Colors also got launched on a path breaking concept of how gender equality needs to start from home, they need to bring back focus to core concept after leap, now that they started getting reasonable TRPs. Zindagi ke crossroads is one major experiment on Sony, though not a daily soap its commendable in selection of topics as each episodic story is different, realistic and socially / morally debatable on dilemma of characters, yes it may not have lapped up on TRP charts in competition to daily soaps.. (and both channel & producer seem to be fine as they never expected high TRPs in first place, it being an experiment)

Though I don't regularly follow Krishna chali London on SP, from writing & direction perspective to retaining rustic flavor in production quality, to issues of patriarchal dominance of a joint family head impacting all married couples lives..they seem to be picking up on relatable plots..

In recent times Internet wala love is one promo that caught attention.. need to see how this soon to be launched daily soap on Colors addresses this issue of contradictory outlooks of technology addiction from two diverse youngsters. 😉

PS. Underline fact..the above soaps I mentioned necessarily don't have superlative performances or caliber of Sriti & Shabir their stature or screen presence.. neither do they bank solely on the chemistry of main jodi to run weekly episodes..😛

I used to think uniting abhigya should be the solution and was expecting it. But I don't think writers ever wanted that.

Viewers are so used to taking a jodi perspective. They like the couple and look at the show from that angle. There's another perspective on this show that I feel does not get much support on this forum. KKB is a total spoof and caricature of this couple. Pragya and Abhi's characters are so flawed and so beyond unrealistic. Writers are making fun of the rich and famous and the mahanta women. There's a difference between making fun of the characters and discussing how writers are making fun of the characters.

If I look at the show from that angle, it becomes hilarious.😆 Almost like Austin Powers series!! Writers actually have done a great job changing viewers' pov on traditional topics like marriage, mahanta-ism, arranged and "love marriages." This show does make you think about is it worth staying in a bad relationship?? Is it worth being an all sacrificing wife? And is it worth chasing a guy even if he doesn't love you?? Is it worth loving a wife who hides things from for "your own good?" Is it worth having a child when the husband hasn't fully trusted you? Clearly the show says "No"!!

In a way, by showing tabhigya's toxic relationship all around, writers are clearly showing how relationships should not be. In that respect, this is an awesome show!👍🏼😆

True, Sahithi. We have diversity in our society, but maybe we need more diversity in our taste and appreciation of TV content. We tend to be traditional in our expectations when it comes to entertainment. If there's a market for different tastes in mass entertainment avenues, then we may see changes!!
