Best way to to free hindi soaps from this crap is to stop watching these shows. If there's no market for this cheap content, then they won't make them. Content is too vulgar and demeaning of women. It's shocking that viewers keep saying "that's how all serials are" as if that's ok.
I find Hindi soaps are very regressive and too traditional for my liking especially when it comes to female characters. I watched some episodes of south Indian shows where female leads where so strong and handled themselves as a dutiful wife and punished the villains.

Prani, content makers understanding of Indian market itself needs a change... compare the content on Netflix made exclusively for Indian audience and the general content available there.. while quality is much better, still the Indian content is so cliched and let down compared to international content..the genres and characters explored is so different, when Indian society has to be the more diverse one and should be offering scope for better stories..

I used to think uniting abhigya should be the solution and was expecting it. But I don't think writers ever wanted that.
Viewers are so used to taking a jodi perspective. They like the couple and look at the show from that angle. There's another perspective on this show that I feel does not get much support on this forum. KKB is a total spoof and caricature of this couple. Pragya and Abhi's characters are so flawed and so beyond unrealistic. Writers are making fun of the rich and famous and the mahanta women. There's a difference between making fun of the characters and discussing how writers are making fun of the characters. If I look at the show from that angle, it becomes hilarious.π Almost like Austin Powers series!! Writers actually have done a great job changing viewers' pov on traditional topics like marriage, mahanta-ism, arranged and "love marriages." This show does make you think about is it worth staying in a bad relationship?? Is it worth being an all sacrificing wife? And is it worth chasing a guy even if he doesn't love you?? Is it worth loving a wife who hides things from for "your own good?" Is it worth having a child when the husband hasn't fully trusted you? Clearly the show says "No"!!In a way, by showing tabhigya's toxic relationship all around, writers are clearly showing how relationships should not be. In that respect, this is an awesome show!
